Yes, I am the “What to Buy at Costco if You’re Single” guy, but it’s time to level up. Not in my personal life—I’m still struggling there. But that doesn’t stop me from walking the aisles of Costco while I daydream about what life could be like if I were shopping at Costco for two. So what should you buy at Costco if you’re shopping for a couple? Again, it’s all about the variety packs! Chances are, you and your partner or roommate have slightly different preferences. And yes, you can still buy in bulk at Costco even if that’s the case. I recently stopped by my local Costco and did a little shopping with parties of two in mind. Here’s what I found.

Kirkland Signature Bagels

The original version of this Costco haul included the Kirkland Signature muffins over bagels. Costco went and ruined everything by scratching their (admittedly weird) style of sales that revolved around selecting two six packs of muffins for a fixed price. Never fear though, Costco still sells their bagels in the same way, so we have a replacement! You and your boo can still choose a six pack of your respective favorite flaves; choices are: plain, everything, parmesan, and French toast.

Sabatasso’s Thin Crust Pizza Singles

These are called pizza singles, but I have it on good authority that you can buy these if you’re in a relationship! This pizza variety pack—which comes with six Pepperoni and six Four Cheese personal pizzas—is perfect for the omnivorous couple that can never quite figure out what to order. Do you order your pizza with half meat and half veggies and trust them to get it perfectly split down the middle? Or do you order one meat pizza and one cheese pizza and wind up with too much left over? Well, add these little individual pizzas to your list of what to buy at Costco and you don’t have to worry about blending toppings. It’s a win for everyone!

Goodles Variety Pack

Listen to me carefully: Regardless of how you feel about these flavors—Dreamy Creamy and Thrilled Cheese—you will be giving the “dreamy creamy” boxes to your partner. While it is true that a mild cheddar mac with “loads of cream cheese” sounds a little questionable, they will overlook it when you call them dreamy creamy. I think. I hope. Okay, now that I’m looking at it again, “dreamy creamy” can be a dangerous game to play with your partner, but let’s just hope they take it as a compliment. The other, more textbook flavor, of Goodles in this variety pack is American grilled cheese mac, so at the very least you can safely snack on boxes of the stuff while you wait for your spouse to figure out if being called dreamy creamy really is a good thing.

Nature’s Garden Probiotic Yoggies Trail Mix

There are some variety packs at Costco that incorporate as much diversity as they can and some that are lacking in that department…this is the latter. With a range of flavors consisting of “mixed berry” to “lemonberry” Nature’s Garden seems to have a berry fixation. We can work with this, though. This obviously is for tight knit couples that have the same tastes. You don’t need a variety pack with a lot of flavors because you know what you like and you like to share with your partner. That’s a level of love that I can respect!

Kirkland Signature Fruit & Vegetable Pouches Variety Pack

Now, here’s a variety pack that puts the last one to shame. Kirkland Signature did not mess around when they put this two-pack of flavors together. Apple, strawberry, and spinach can be found in one pouch and apple, mango, yellow carrot, and peach are in the other. It took some serious craftsmanship to make all those flavors work together. This is for the couple that, while they may each have their own niche interests, is able to come together through pure love and admiration to bridge the gap. If you and your soulmate can split this variety pack from Costco, your love will truly stand the test of time.

Oats Overnight Variety Pack

It still stands that the Costco aisle with the biggest selection of two-packs to choose from is the protein bar aisle. The good news however is that the protein bar aisle has gotten a significant upgrade since the last time we talked about this topic. Namely, the fact that they have more than just protein bars. For some reason, a protein shake sounds much better than a protein bar to me. My bias might be showing considering one of those protein shakes is cookies & cream flavored (my favorite). Cookies & cream and peanut butter banana protein shakes sound a lot better to split with the love of my life than a box of Clif bars. If you agree, maybe we’re meant to be!
