It’s almost summertime! Or is it already summertime? I’m not quite sure how it works. Does it happen on the summer solstice? Or is that merely a recommendation and it really becomes summer when it’s hot enough outside to make me sweat the moment I leave my apartment? Because we have already had a few of those days! Either way, things are heating up so it’s time to find some bitchin’ summer finds at Costco to start things off on the right foot. Here’s what to buy at Costco in June.
- Edward Marc Strawberry Shortcake Bites

Ice cream in the summer heat can be a real pain and storing ice cream bars in your pockets is generally frowned upon. However, ice cream flavored things in the summer heat that can’t actually melt in your pockets is a win-win. Send these shortcake bites from Costco off with your kid to their swimming lesson, sneak them into the movies, or just pour a bowl for a sweet treat after a hot day of lawn-mowing. These are the perfect summer treat to have around this summer.

- Bachan’s Japanese Barbecue Sauce
-
If it’s good enough for Link Neal’s fridge, it’s good enough for yours! With all the backyard grilling you’re about to do you’re going to need some solid BBQ sauce to throw on top of everything, so let’s get Bachan’s. Unfortunately, my Costco doesn’t carry Sporked’s favorite Bachan sauce (Yuzu). The aisles may be big but the pickings are slim. At least we have Link’s stamp of approval on this one.

- Kirkland Signature Smoked Pulled Pork

I have a big apology to give on this one. I’ve walked past this Kirkland Signature Pulled Pork month after month and never gave it a second thought. Then Sporked’s Gwynedd Stuart gives it a try and it’s worthy of its own Reel?!??! It’s been that damn good this whole time and I haven’t given it its flowers! But I’m here to fix my mistake. I’ll also be sending a written apology to my local Costco to beg for their forgiveness.

- Rana Lemon Chicken Tagliatelle Pasta
-
The last thing you want to do when you get home from buying 200 pounds of food at Costco is actually cook any of that food. And, socially, it’s “unacceptable” to load up on $1.50 Costco hot dog combos for dinner (so I’ve been told, but it’s not a stance I ascribe to). Quite frankly, this pasta with chicken and a creamy lemon sauce looks good enough in its own right, but add in the fact that it’s stupidly easy to make and your dinner plans are set!

- Red’s Egg’wich Turkey Sausage

I live a bread-heavy lifestyle, so it didn’t even occur to me until I saw the package for these egg’wiches in particular that it’s for people actually living a keto lifestyle. And maybe that’s you. This is a safe space and I support your right to choose. However, like I said, I want to fit bread into any dish I can so for those with the same mindset, here’s a hack for you. Grab the Dutch griddle cakes from Trader Joe’s and put these egg’wiches from Costco in between them for your own McGriddle that you can get past 10:30 a.m. and not support McDonald’s at the same time. Costco haul breakfast hack!

- Ficacci Mediterranean Olive Platter
-
Between the cost of flights to the Mediterranean coast and the idea of actually trusting your life on a flight these days, your island-hopping plans might be cut short. Thankfully, Costco has your back with a budget-friendly alternative. Grab this olive platter on your next trip and a lawn chair to pair with it to give yourself the illusion of a lazy afternoon by the water. Just be sure you mute your Slack messages so you can protect your peace in the moment!
