Carl’s Jr. is turning 85 and it’s celebrating the way every burger chain should. It may not be handing out free cheeseburgers, but the price is low enough to consider it a giveaway. There is a small catch, but it’s an easy one to work around. So if a burger run has been on the schedule this week, this birthday celebration might be the perfect excuse to make it happen.

Celebrating 85 Years With An 85-Cent Burger
Carl’s Jr. turns 85 this week and the burger chain is celebrating by offering its Double Cheeseburger for just 85 cents at participating restaurants from July 16th through July 19th. The offer is available exclusively to My Rewards members and can be redeemed through the Carl’s Jr. app or online. Customers will also need to make at least a $1 minimum purchase to be part of the deal.
For anyone who hasn’t signed up yet, joining the My Rewards program is free. Members receive app-exclusive offers, earn points on eligible purchases and regularly get access to limited-time promotions that aren’t available to everyone else.
Everything About The Deal
There aren’t many hoops to jump through in this one. After joining the free My Rewards program, customers can open the Carl’s Jr. app or website, add at least $1 worth of food or drinks to the order, and redeem the offer before checking out. The Double Cheeseburger comes with two beef patties, two slices of American cheese, pickles, diced onions, ketchup and mustard on a toasted bun. At just 85 cents, it’s easily one of the chain’s best value deals this year.
An 85-cent burger isn’t the first time Carl’s Jr. has gotten creative to grab people’s attention.
In April 2026, the burger chain launched one of its funniest promotions yet by asking customers to “snitch” on boring chicken sandwiches from other fast food restaurants. The campaign was created to promote its new Western Bacon Chicken Sandwich, and the rules were simple. Rewards members just had to upload a photo or receipt of a bland chicken sandwich they had previously ordered from another restaurant. If Carl’s Jr. approved the submission, the customer received a free Western Bacon Chicken Sandwich through the app. Two months later, Carl’s Jr. continued the bit by encouraging customers to drive by Jack in the Box. The chain isn’t afraid to cause a stir in its deals.
Don’t Wait Too Long
The anniversary promotion only lasts through July 19th, so anyone hoping to grab an 85-cent Double Cheeseburger has a short window to take advantage of it. As long as the order includes the required $1 purchase and the offer is redeemed through the My Rewards app or online, fans can celebrate Carl’s Jr.’s 85th birthday without spending much at all.
