Hot Dog on a Stick is celebrating National Lemonade Day with a deal that costs just 80 cents, but the price is not a random number pulled out of a hat. The company is actually celebrating 80 years in business, so the chain is using 80 cents to mark the occasion.

Hot Dog on a Stick’s story goes all the way back to 1946, when founder Dave Barham opened a food stand on Santa Monica’s beach. The stand was originally called Party Puffs and sold ice cream and lemonade. Then Barham perfected his signature Hot Dog on a Stick using his mother’s cornbread recipe. The new menu item became such a hit that the stand eventually took its name from it.
A Good Day For Lemonade Fans
Hot Dog on a Stick has been serving its famous lemonade for decades, so National Lemonade Day is a pretty good excuse for a celebration.
On Thursday, August 20th, customers who buy an Original Hot Dog on a Stick or Cheese on a Stick at regular price can grab a 16-ounce Original Fresh Hand-Stomped Lemonade for just 80 cents. The deal is part of the brand’s year-long celebration of its 80th anniversary.
There is also a little freebie for anyone who loves collecting restaurant freebies. Customers will receive a free limited-edition 80th Anniversary sticker with their purchase, while supplies last.
The 80th Anniversary Party Has Already Started
The lemonade deal is another chapter in Hot Dog on a Stick’s year-long 80th anniversary celebration.
The company already celebrated National Hot Dog Day in July with an 80-cent promotion of its own. Customers who bought a qualifying stick could get another one for 80 cents during the one-day July 15th promotion.
The anniversary year also comes during a major change for the company. An affiliate of Amazing Brands, founded by Stephen Siegel, acquired Hot Dog on a Stick through a bankruptcy court-approved transaction in July 2026. The new ownership has said it plans to grow the brand while keeping its traditions intact.
Hot Dog on a Stick has also celebrated National Lemonade Day with special promotions before. Back in 2017, the brand gave away souvenir cups filled with its fresh hand-stomped lemonade to the first 50 customers at participating locations.
Just For One Day
Anyone hoping to snag the 80-cent lemonade should mark August 20th on their calendar because the deal is only available that day.
For 80 cents, customers can add a 16-ounce hand-stomped lemonade to a regular Original Hot Dog on a Stick or Cheese on a Stick purchase.
The deal is valid in-store only at participating Hot Dog on a Stick locations.
