I’ll do damn near anything for a year of free groceries. MyFitnessPal, the global nutrition and food tracking app, is actually doing something pretty reasonable. I guess I played my hand on that one so if anyone else was looking to give me free groceries for a year, please go easy on me. I’ll still try to test my luck with MyFitnessPal though so let’s go over their new giveaway.

The Details
Starting September 10th, MyFitnessPal is giving four people the chance to take home a year’s worth of free groceries―about $7,500 each. Why four people? New data from the app shows it only takes four days of logging to build healthy habits, with users who logged for at least four days in their first week being 7x more likely to progress toward their weight loss goals. A sneaky way to promote your app, MFP.
To jumpstart your journey and land the message of four days being the goal to get you going, MyFitnessPal is celebrating the power of just four days by spotlighting a cohort of longtime “First Four” users. Those whose lives and goals couldn’t look more different, but whose habits tell a similar story.
The campaign also includes an in-app recipe collection called “First Four Favorites,” inspired by the meals that fuel “First Four” users. All this of course though is to further tie into the First Four Challenge. Don’t lose sight of the main goal, free groceries.
How To Participate
For the chance to win, adults in the U.S. and Canada (age 18+) simply need to log their meals for four consecutive days between September 10th and October 9th and share their details at www.myfitnesspalfirstfour.com. To join the app and the challenge, visit www.myfitnesspal.com or download the MyFitness Pal app via the App Store or Google Play.
More Than Free Groceries?
MyFitnessPal also shared that in a survey, 61% of U.S. and 57% of Canadian MyFitnessPal members reported noticing a change in energy and mood within 96 hours of consistent logging, and 69% of U.S. and 67% of Canadian users said food logging becomes automatic within one month, proving a simple routine can quickly become a lasting one. Maybe we’re getting a bit more than free groceries. If I’m not one of the lucky few, I guess a consolation prize isn’t too bad.
