The growing “food-related non-food product” space is usually too absurd to cover on your favorite grocery store companion of a website. But I got special permission to showcase five of my favorite collaborations from this year that you may have missed. Let’s take a trip through 2025’s wildest temporary friendships.

Heinz Ketchup x Herschel Hardshell Luggage

The nicest suitcase I own is covered in Heinz ketchup. Do you know how absurd that is? Herschel Luggage launched “Heinz ketchup red” suitcases earlier this year, and thanks to a generous gift from Heinz, I know they’re absurdly nice. From the “Tear Here” print on the outer right corner to the ketchup-printed lining to the protective packet pocket on the inner divider, these are genuinely elevated pieces of food merchandise. The first suitcase I ever bought was bright red so I’d always be able to spot it on a luggage carousel; I’m happy this continues that trend. As someone who works in “the food space,” there’s no more appropriate conversation starter.

Panera Bread x Holler & Glow Lip Balm

Panera Bread partnered with Holler & Glow on a two-pack of lip balms based on Panera’s macaroni and cheese (and bread, of course). While this is sitting on my shelf as we speak, I’ve yet to try this one myself. Maybe if we all beg and plead in the comments, I’ll get to review these terrifying savory balm orbs after I return from the holidays.

White Castle x OxyClean Lapkin

White Castle headquarters is literally down the road from where I live, so I have to shout out their biggest swing this year. To promote the launch of their super-messy BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders, White Castle partnered with OxyClean to create the Lapkin: a structured lap-length bib that’s super easy to wipe clean after it catches all your slider trimmings. The “Craver’s Cleanup Kit,” gifted to lucky drive-thru customers in select cities, featured a Lapkin and a bottle of OxiClean MaxForce Spray—just in case you manage to spill some barbecue sauce on your clothes under the Lapkin.

Dunkin’ x Camp Snap Camera

I am “the photographer” in basically all my social circles; I have thousands of pictures of my family, partners, friends, strangers’ dogs, and everywhere I travel in search of unique products to review. So when Dunkin’ launched merchandise at Urban Outfitters, the last thing I expected to find under all the clothes was a pair of cameras. Camp Snap Cameras are digital cameras pretending to be disposable cameras. You have to use the viewfinder and pray it turns out good since there’s no screen, but you can export the photos like a digital camera. As part of the branded merch drop, Urban Outfitters offered two Camp Snap Cameras covered in Dunkin’ iced coffee and donuts.

Bush’s Beans x The Surgeon BeanBQ Boots

These gorgeous “BeanBQ” boots, inspired by Bush’s Hot Honey Grillin’ Beans, featured heat-reactive leather elements and a removable can-opener holster. For the sake of my wallet, it’s a good thing these weren’t available for sale. (It was so hard to decide whether this last spot went to these boots or the Tecovas cowboy boots made of genuine Chili’s booth.)

Honorary Mentions

Our own Tyler Bowers swears the Mike’s Hot Honey-flavored Burt’s Bees lip balm has no right being as good as it is. P.F. Candle Co. launched a Grillo’s Pickle-scented candle; as a devout pickle hater, I was impressed with how accurate this was. Adidas partnered with New England-based streetwear shop Sneaker Junkies on a run of clam chowder-themed Gazelle sneakers. I could go on forever, folks. There’s no escaping it: the final frontier for food marketing is non-food products.
