If you haven’t heard, Trader Joe’s now sells a charcuterie board for $10.99. As someone who panic-shops for party snacks exclusively at Trader Joe’s an hour before I’m supposed to host, I cannot stress enough how excited I am about this. I’ve compared premade grocery store party platters in the past, and Trader Joe’s charcuterie board is, without a doubt, the cheapest price I’ve seen to date—cheaper than even those generic plastic tubs with the dusty cheddar cubes, grapes, celery, and watery ranch.
To be fair, this new Trader Joe’s charcuterie board—officially called Trader Joe’s Antipasti Platter—is not very big. It looks like it could feed a small group, maybe three to five people. But you can always grab more than one if you’re hosting a crowd.
What’s in it, Ariana? Gimme all the details.
In one platter, you get: Prosciutto, uncured peppered salami, uncured salami nuggets, uncured calabrese nuggets, Castelvetrano olives, and provolone cheese.
As you can see, you’ll have to bring your own crackers to the platter. And I’m a little sad that there’s only one type of cheese (and that out of all the great Trader Joe’s cheeses, they went with boring old slices of provolone—but I guess provolone is a crowd-pleaser classic).
No Unexpected Cheddar in there?! What are they thinking???
I know, I know. I was disappointed, too. But everyone’s favorite parmesan-cheddar hybrid from TJ’s is only $3.99, which ain’t bad for a premium cheese that you can serve on the side. Honestly, you could assemble your own Trader Joes’ charcuterie board for pretty cheap, but this is a good base to start with.
What other TJ’s products would complement the new $10.99 Trader Joe’s charcuterie board?
Hey, thanks so much for asking. It means a lot, because we’ve tried and ranked all the best TJ’s dips and TJ’s chips just for this purpose. Other than Unexpected Cheddar, we recommend any of our top Trader Joe’s cheeses—especially the Creamy Toscano Cheese Soaked in Syrah, if you really want something special to impress your guests.
But don’t just listen to us, because @sadiedoesscience on Reddit put together a stunning smorgasbord spread using only Trader Joe’s products. We second their decisions to include fig jam, miniature table grapes, the sweet and smoky pecans from the nut section, and of course, cornichons. Don’t forget the cornichons!!!
