WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark is living the dream: Gatorade is bringing back one of her favorite discontinued products just because she misses it that much. Yes, Rain Berry is back. If you’re quick on the draw, starting February 19th, you can secure one of 2,200 limited-edition bottles featuring Caitlin herself on a label inspired by the original Gatorade Rain bottle design. (Here’s the clip of Tyrese Haliburton surprising her with that news.) If you miss the drop, no worries; Gatorade Rain Berry will hit shelves everywhere very soon as part of Gatorade’s new Lower Sugar lineup.

What is a Rain Berry?
This purple Gatorade has a complicated name for a fairly simple mixed-berry profile. “Rain Berry” started as the Berry flavor in Gatorade’s Rain subline. When the Rain subline was discontinued, select popular flavors were moved to Gatorade Thirst Quencher’s Frost subline, with the word “rain” appended to their names to maintain continuity. The Gatorade Frost version of Rain Berry was discontinued in 2023, to the dismay of Gatorade drinkers across the nation – including Indiana Fever icon Caitlin Clark.
What’s the difference between Gatorade Lower Sugar and G2?
Gatorade Lower Sugar has even less sugar than G2. The existing G2 line features all the electrolytes of Gatorade’s classic Thirst Quencher line with half the sugar. The new Lower Sugar line features the same electrolytes with no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners, and 75% less sugar than the Thirst Quencher line. While Gatorade hasn’t made a formal statement regarding the future of G2, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lower Sugar line eventually replaces G2 entirely. Gatorade Lower Sugar seems well-timed for society’s current shift towards less sugar and more “real” ingredients.
When will Gatorade Lower Sugar hit shelves?
The Lower Sugar line is launching this March with four flavors: Fruit Punch, Lemonade, Glacier Cherry, and Rain Berry. All four flavors will be available in nearly every bottle size Gatorade offers: 12oz, 20oz, and 28oz. No joke, I was lucky enough to try the full Lower Sugar lineup at an underground invite-only PepsiCo party last year; stay tuned for a full review soon.
