Alani Nu Lime Slush Energy Is Out, and We Tried It

Late last year, I covered an inkling of a rumbling of a rumor: Alani Nu would release a Lime Slush energy drink in early 2026. Well, chalk a win in the rumor mill’s column. Despite that early-bird amplification, Alani Nu was kind enough to send over a case of Lime Slush Energy for Sporked‘s most dedicated energy drink reviewer. Let’s crack one open and see whether this lime is sublime.

Alani Nu Lime Slush Energy

Pros: As usual, Alani Nu did an outstanding job hiding the alternative sweetener taste that can turn off sensitive folks. You wouldn’t expect such a creamy underlayer in a “Slush” energy drink, but this has a genuine sweetness beyond the lime’s brightness. I really dig this, and I hope it sticks around.

Someone in a Facebook fangroup actually nailed the flavor description in one fell swoop: Alani Nu Lime Slush tastes like eating Lime and Vanilla Tootsie Fruit Chews at the same time.

Cons: The detailed descriptions of this drink are all hiding something from you. Per one of the emails I got about this drink, the flavor is “sweet, zesty lime and smooth lemon cream.” That’s right, folks: Alani Nu Lime Slush is actually Lemon-Lime Slush. Without any fanfare, Alani Nu has tackled one of the world’s most popular soda flavor profiles… sort of. The cream factor here is pleasant enough, but I’m starting to see why we haven’t seen Sprite & Cream on shelves.

What’s coming next from Alani Nu Energy?

Back in December, I covered the rumblings of a long-awaited return to the Alani Nu Energy lineup: Cotton Candy Grape. While I brought some heavy backstory into my review of Alani Nu’s Cotton Candy Energy last year, I’m hoping this old-made-new Cotton Candy Grape formula will be different enough to get me past my mental hangups against sugarfloss. If plans stay the same, we’ll see Alani Nu Cotton Candy Grape Energy hit shelves for a limited time this June.
