Oreos? Boring. Passé. Classic, but predictable. But S’moreos? Funky. Fashionable. Fresh. And coming back to a shelf near you! Yes, that’s right, people: One of the cookie brand’s most beloved limited-time flavors is making a roaring return after an absence from stores that left customers hankering. Here’s what we know about everyone’s favorite cookie-marshmallow mash-up getting another spin.

Pack Your Tents And Your S’moreos, People – We’re Heading into the Wild
Although S’moreos have been on the brand’s consistent returning rotation ever since they first debuted in 2015, it’s still always a relief to know that Oreos hasn’t ditched them for good. As you might expect, it’s brought them back to coincide with the start of camping season. Oreos teased the return of S’moreos with an Instagram post, which featured a picture that included a pack of S’moreos, an inflatable camping bed, a jug and glass of milk, and an ornate mirror (which we guess is putting the camp in camping). “Doing it just for the s’moreos, hbu?” read the caption – and people promptly erupted in joy.
It wasn’t until premium snack source @markie_devo confirmed that S’moreos were returning, though, that we knew this was legit. S’Moreos are due to be available wherever you get your Oreos (ie, all major retailers), beginning their rollout across spring and summer. If you need them right this very second, though, they’re already listed on the Oreo website.
Like an Oreo, but with a Little S’more to It
Although S’moreos first appeared more than a decade ago, it’s taken a bit of time for the flavor to build up buzz. It wasn’t really until the 2020s that people started to clamor for its yearly return more widely, which Nabisco duly acted on. Made up of a pair of graham cracker cookies with layers of chocolate and marshmallow créme inside, it’s a snack that takes all of the effort out of actually making s’mores yourself.
Do they actually taste like s’mores, though? Well…not really. In our review of S’moreos, we noted that the cookie doesn’t quite evoke that feeling of sitting around burning embers with your friends, in the moments before someone tentatively suggests telling ghost stories. But to be honest, unless you’re really set on this cookie being exactly the same as a just-cooked s’more, then you won’t be disappointed. S’moreos are bigger than the sum of their parts, and the graham cracker cookie in particular has a nice flavor to it. All in all, it’s worth your time, even if it doesn’t blow your mind.
And if the sound of a s’mores-esque cookie doesn’t float your boat? Don’t worry, there’s always another limited-time Oreo flavor around the corner. The brand recently debuted its Marvel Stuf of Doom Cookies in a tie-in with the comic book giant, and we saw an influx of new flavors and varieties at the top of the year, including additions to its Cakesters range. It won’t be long before it brings out something else.
