Almond Joy’s pivot to ice cream has been both long overdue and much-welcomed. It’s hard to believe that it took until 2026 for people to figure out that it would work in frozen form, but now, much like buses, we’re getting two versions of that joy (get it?) in one go. A couple of months back, Almond Joy ice cream bars were announced and began appearing in stores, and now we’ve got a new frozen dairy dessert that’s a collab between Almond Joy and Breyer’s.

Coconut-flavor creamy dessert with almonds, that you can spoon into your mouth as you watch TV? We’re so in. Here’s what you should know.

Breyer’s x Almond Joy

The news of Breyer’s Almond Joy Frozen Dairy Dessert was recently posted by @markie_devo over on Instagram. This dessert begins with coconut ice cream (which, according to the tub, is made with coconut flavor and “other natural flavor”), then swirls through a ribbon of chocolate and finishes it off with chocolate-coated almonds. While we haven’t tried it, we can already feel that combo of crunch and creaminess, and we’re here for it.

Now, the eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted that Breyer’s is calling this one a “frozen dairy dessert” instead of an ice cream. That basically means that it has a lower milkfat level than classic ice cream and may have more air. It’s a way for food producers to bypass the true definition of ice cream (and, frankly, to keep costs down, both for themselves and for the customer), while still making something almost identical to it. It won’t have quite the same mouthfeel, though.

Where Can I Get This Dessert?

Breyer’s Almond Joy Frozen Dairy Dessert has been spotted in Family Dollar and 7-Eleven so far, and we can expect it to pop up in other places, too.

Is It Limited-Edition, or Permanent, or What?

Sadly, we don’t know just yet. Breyer’s didn’t give us too much information on this one, and so we’re not sure how long it’s going to stick around. What we do know is that we want to try it.

Do Other People Want to Try It?

Thanks for asking and leading us into our next section! They do, yes. Commenters on @markie_devo’s post pointed out that Almond Joy is an underrated candy bar, and news of its freezification is clearly most welcome. One person also said that they were hoping that there would be no almonds in any form of Almond Joy ice cream/frozen dessert that made it to market. Which we kinda don’t get…it’s literally in the name, guys!

This may not be the best ice cream we’ve ever tasted (although it might be – who knows?), but we’re still excited. Are you? Let us know.
