Hey. Do you like whimsy and joy in your life? Then you’re probably a fan of Trader Joe’s mini tote bags. We certainly are, and if you’ve grown tired of seeing us discuss them, then we can only apologise – but look, we love weirdly charming little things with limited use, so we’re gonna keep discussing them. Back in April, we brought you the latest update on its new mini totes – and now, we bring you news of its new insulated mini totes. And you’ve got six colors to choose from.

Or, you will when they drop, at least – and that’s happening in a few weeks. Here’s what you need to know.
Trader Joe’s Mini Insulated Totes
Trader Joe’s confirmed to USA Today yesterday that its mini insulated totes would be making a reappearance this year. Although these are on the smaller side, they’re actually not that little at all: Each tote has a 1.5-gallon capacity, which is more than enough for a good few cans of beer or soda. They’ll cost $4 each.
Now, there’s good news for the indecisive amongst you (of which I count myself as one): There are six different colors to choose from. According to the image provided by Trader Joe’s to USA Today, these bags will come in orange, blue, lavender, and green, and there will also be blue-green and a pink-peach striped versions. If you dig a little on the TJ’s website, there are also listings for these tote bags, which show them in teal, magenta, and pink. We’ll have to wait until they actually drop to see what we’re really getting.
And When Will They Be Dropping?
In T-minus two weeks! The insulated totes will be arriving in stores on May 20, and they’ll only be available for a limited time. We wouldn’t sleep on getting them, particularly since whenever these tote bags drop, they have the tendency to cause chaos. Trader Joe’s mini regular and insulated totes have been around for a few years now, and whenever they’re released, there’s a fair bit of hullabaloo. They’ve become both collector’s items and weirdly valuable for resale, with some people trying to do so for over $1,000.
Let’s be honest – that’s wild, particularly for items that have fairly niche use. These insulated mini totes, though, are definitely more practical than their regular tote sibling, and so we wouldn’t turn our nose up at them. Get them while they’re hot (or cold), and pick up some of the new May drops from Trader Joe’s while you’re at it.
