We don’t know if you’ve noticed, but collagen peptides are everywhere. Eeeeeverywhere. This dietary supplement is the new big thing in the nutrition world (although, like many new big things, it’s been around for ages), and in the last few months or so, it’s started to break out of specialist stores and into a more mainstream space. It’s being advertised on podcasts, it’s going in protein shots, and it’s likely on a shelf near you.

It certainly is if you have an Aldi in your neighborhood. The German retailer is now stocking collagen peptides. Here’s what you need to know.

Elevation Collagen Peptides

A couple of days ago, a thread appeared on the Aldi subreddit, which alerted us all to the fact that Aldi is now selling its own Elevation Collagen Peptides for $12.99 a tub (although prices may vary, as always, from store to store, and whether you’re buying it online or not – it’s slightly more expensive on its website). First thing to point out here is that this is an almost seamless dupe, although we’re not sure Aldi meant for it to be as such. There’s a brand called Elavate (replacing the second “e” with an “a”) that also sells collagen peptides, and which has a very similar color scheme to the Aldi-sold version. We’re not gonna make any assumptions or statements on the intentions here; we’re merely pointing it out, mainly so you don’t buy this one and expect the other product.

Anyway! Aldi’s Elevation Collagen Peptides are unflavored and have 20 grams of collagen per serving. If you’ve ever flirted with the idea of taking them and have been put off by pricier brands, now’s your chance. Aldi also currently sells other collagen products in the form of its Puraqua Prebiotic Collagen Drink Mix Sticks, if you want your collagen in a different form.

And How Do Aldi Customers Feel?

As ever, it’s a mixed bag. Some people have said this is a great deal, particularly if you can’t afford the likes of Vital Protein or other pricier collagen peptides brands. Others have lamented that it’s jumped on board with the peptides train, and questioned whether it’s all driven by hype. Well, we’d imagine it is – and we’d also imagine that Aldi won’t be stocking these forever. Get your fill while you can. Oh, and if you’re near a Sam’s Club, you can grab Vital Proteins there, too.
