Everyone comes to a crossroads. Do you renew your Costco membership or not? It’s a worthwhile decision to make. After all, Costco only makes their money off of their memberships. You are the product. You have to then decide if you are getting enough out of your membership to warrant the yearly price tag.

Realistically, I probably don’t get my money’s worth out of my Costco membership. I’m mainly buying allergy medicine every two weeks―which to be fair, that does save me some good money. I also manage to get a $1.50 hot dog combo every time I visit. That said, I do have thoughts on the Costco items that make it worth having a membership. If you’re on the fence, give these five items a try and see if they’ll sway you towards staying.
Kirkland Signature Uncured Bacon and Gouda Egg Bites
If you’ve got a crippling addiction to Starbucks’ egg bites, the savings alone these Costco dupes could provide will pay for the next ten years of membership. While Costco’s egg bites aren’t a one for one dupe to Starbucks’ they still get our recommendation to make the switch. They’re bigger and cheesier than those at Starbucks (a definite positive). Save yourself a trip to Starbucks every morning and save for your kid’s college fund.
Kirkland Signature Tempura Shrimp
It really feels annoying to add Costco’s tempura shrimp to yet another list like this. I’m sorry that they’re that good! They’re especially useful for the task at hand because they genuinely taste better than most frozen shrimp you can find at a restaurant―plus, it comes with a sauce so you save yourself that headache, too. It really is the perfect Costco product.
Costco Cheese Pizza
We all know that the $1.50 hot dog combo from the food court is the best deal in the store. What usually takes people a little longer to figure out is how good of a deal the whole pizzas from the food court really are. You can get a pizza that’s larger than a manhole cover for $10. The possibilities for savings are endless. Every birthday party, football gameday, and intervention are an opportunity to save a pretty penny by grabbing a few Costco food court pizzas.
Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Mousse Filling
There’s much to celebrate in life! And each one of those celebrations will start to add up if you’re ordering a custom cake for each gathering. Save yourself unlimited money (the more friends you have, the more money you save as you get closer to infinity) by getting a cake from Costco. Our personal fave is the chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. It’s so moist and chocolaty and fudgy and it’s a must-have from Costco.
Kirkland Signature Ground Beef
This isn’t just any package of ground beef from the meat section at Costco. We’re specifically talking about the 10lb tube of ground beef that you have to ask for from the back. It’s going to save you a considerable amount per pound compared to the ground beef you’ll find at your local grocery store. Divide it up and watch your savings add up over the months it’ll take you to get through all that meat.
