We love a comeback. Especially when said comeback is delicious. And Costco knows just when its customers need one the most. The retailer has a habit of reviving former favorites after lengthy absences, and this year, it’s been playing the hits: Its Greek pasta salad, food court churro, pistachio cheesecake, and peaches and cream cake have all hit its stores over the course of 2026, causing much joy amongst its fanbase and many a purchase.

Now, it’s done it again. This one, though, might be the coziest revival we’ve had in recent memory. Anyone for a cinnamon roll?
Costco Gooey Cinnamon Rolls: Thank God You’re Back
This week, Costco customers have discovered that its Gooey Cinnamon Rolls are back in its bakery section, after a not-insignificant time away. To go over a brief rundown of this item’s history: Costco’s cinnamon rolls first appeared years ago, before being discontinued in 2020. The store brought them back three years later, before totally revamping them, amping up the gooey factor and reducing the count from 12 to six rolls. This change also came with a price increase, which a lot of customers found hard to stomach.
Costco’s Gooey Cinnamon Rolls were then discontinued, then remounted in late 2024 – but since then, they’ve been nowhere to be found. Until now. At $12.99 for six rolls, they’re the same price as they were in 2023, and just like last time, they’re a mass of squishy dough flavored with cinnamon, butter, brown sugar, and honey, with a thick smear of cream cheese icing on top. When cooked, the icing melts into the dough, while the rolls themselves become tender and soft. Planning a coffee morning soon? I can think of worse purchases to make.
Hallelujah!
The return of Costco’s Gooey Cinnamon Rolls has been greeted with a lot of happiness from its customers. “Heaven on earth!” said one comment on a post made by @discovering_costco on Instagram, while another said, “These slap soooo hard.” Make no mistake, people are very pleased these rolls are back – although some folks have reported that their own Costco locations are slightly stingy with the icing, so be aware there could be some variance in what you get here.
Given that Costco’s Gooey Cinnamon Rolls have a clear history of coming and going, I’d act sooner rather than later on these. Once the holidays have passed, there’s no telling whether the store will send them back to the archives for another extended absence. Buy them now! Quick!
