As we drift out of fall and into the holidays, a couple of foods are feeling very trendy. Perhaps the most obvious is cookie butter, which is showing up absolutely everywhere: In cheese, in drinks, in croissants. If fast food menus and supermarket shelves are anything to go by, Biscoff flavors are more popular than ever, and everyone’s getting on board.

But wait! There’s one other flavor that we keep seeing rear its head. And Hostess, with its new holiday Twinkies (and other festive snacks), is putting it front and center. But what could it possibly be?!
The Rise Of The Snickerdoodle
This year, Hostess is releasing its new Snickerdoodle Flavored Twinkies Cakes, and in doing so is jumping on the snickerdoodle train that’s currently barreling out of the station. Snickerdoodle may not be a new flavor, but it’s everywhere this year: Ghirardelli is releasing new Milk Chocolate Snickerdoodle Squares (which are joined, incidentally, by a Cookie Butter Caramel flavor), Clementine’s Ice Cream has just dropped a Gingerdoodle flavor, and Oreo included a snickerdoodle cookie in its advent calendar. Its seasonal popularity makes sense, given that snickerdoodles are essentially a combo of cinnamon, sugar, and butter – but it’s having a real moment right now.
And Hostess knows it. Its Snickerdoodle Flavored Twinkies are piped with a snickerdoodle-flavored crème, with the iconic Twinkie sponge enveloping it. Hostess is also dropping Hot Cocoa and Marshmallow Flavored Donettes Mini Donuts, Holiday Cupcakes dusted with festive sprinkles, and Holiday Sno Balls Cakes – and it’s mixing up its iconic Coffee Cake with a new Stuffed Coffee Cakes, which come with a vanilla-flavored creme piped inside.
Available Now!
Hostess’ full holiday lineup can now be found at retailers across the country (you can use its store locator to find a stockist near you), as well as online. Its Stuffed Coffee Cakes, meanwhile, are a Walmart exclusive.
Elsewhere, it’s been a relatively quiet year for Hostess in terms of bannerhead releases. The veteran brand had a busy start to 2026, with its bumper crop of new spring snacks and a collaboration with 7-Eleven, but since then, it seems as though it’s largely been business as usual. This new Snickerdoodle Flavored Twinkie, though, feels well-timed: It’s picking up on the flavor at a time it’s not completely saturated, and it’s delivering it in a format that feels cozy and unchallenging. This Twinkie may not alter the face of the food landscape forever, but it’s a solid addition to this year’s holiday snacks.
