I think Friendsgiving is a little different than Thanksgiving for a few different reasons. For starters, I think Friendsgiving can get a little more out of the realm of traditional Thanksgiving food. You’re already bending tradition a bit by making it into Friendsgiving. We’re going to get a little avant-garde with our picks.

In my mind, Friendsgiving is also a little less “cook from scratch” and a little more “just grab something good from the grocery store”―which lends itself nicely to the idea at hand. What’s a good grocery store dessert that’s still going to impress? That’s what we’re here to go over.

Kirkland Signature Pumpkin Pie

I know I said we were going non-traditional but come on. Can you blame me for this one? Pumpkin pie is too iconic to pass up for Friendsgiving. This honkin’ pie from Costco is also, expectedly, big enough to feed your friend group no matter how many people are in it! It’s 12 inches across. That’s honestly so big that it’s hard to fathom how Costco is able to manage it.

Bubbies Pumpkin Pie Drizzled Mochi Ice Cream

The (not so) secret to fitting in dessert after even the largest of meals is reaching for ice cream. You’re playing a dangerous game by bringing ice cream to a gathering though. You can oftentimes forget about it if you leave it in the freezer but it’ll also melt quickly if you set it out. The sweet spot between the two extremes is to bring along Bubbies’ pumpkin pie drizzled mochi ice cream. Sure, it might melt a bit while it sits out but the outer mochi shell will keep all that gooey goodness inside until you bite in. It’s perfect for our Friendsgiving!

Pillsbury Ready to Bake! Turkey Shape Sugar Cookies

That little dough boy was using his whole heart when he made these sugar cookies. They are unreal. You might get some funny looks when you bring these to the Friendsgiving get together but trust us. As soon as the doubters take one bite they will understand. Also they’re stupidly simple to bake up. You’d really have to try to mess these ones up. Which means even the least qualified baker can bring something fresh to the gathering.

Tate’s Bake Shop Pumpkin Spice Cookies

These are a next step beyond the Pillsbury ready to bake sugar cookies. Some people just truly cannot bake and that’s okay. You’re still welcome to Friendsgiving, especially when you bring some crispy and pumpkin spicy Tate’s cookies with you. If you do want to chef it up a little, you can pre-make some ice cream sandwiches with a puck of coffee ice cream in between two cookies. Bring a pumpkin spice latte vibe to keep the party going!

Edwards Key Lime Pie

Key lime pie is the perfect way to end a heavy meal like Friendsgiving. You’re cutting through all that fat with a heavy hand of acid. Our favorite frozen pie(s) also happen to be key lime. Edwards won out with the top spot for its rigid filling, super tart and zesty flavor, and the perfect sweet-salty graham cracker crust you can find. All you have to do with this one is thaw and serve so you have time to make another fixin’ for the dinner table!
