For all of you folks out there who don’t like watermelon-flavored foods, look away now. This one ain’t for you. Personally, we can’t get enough of watermelon in candies, snacks, sodas, and drinks. Yes, we know that it doesn’t really taste like true watermelon, but that sweet, slightly floral, almost strangely bubblegum-y taste is just really, really moreish – and whether it comes in a Sour Patch Kids Slurpee or a Dutch Bros menu item, we’re usually sold (unless it’s just too artificial).

So, you can probably imagine that we’re pretty excited about a recent Reddit post that leaked the news that there’s a new 7UP flavor in town – and yep, you guessed it! It’s watermelon. Here’s what we know so far about this currently elusive drink.
7UP Watermelon: Our Prayers Have Been Answered
7UP’s new flavor has been all but confirmed by the Redditor who posted about it, in which they kept things simple by merely posting a picture of the drink’s box. The new 7UP Watermelon is, according to the post and picture, a zero-sugar affair, and comes in your standard can size. The post stated that it’s only out in Canada, and that it’s a limited-edition item; nor did the person who posted the picture have any information about what it tasted like. They just said that they got “a sneak peek.”
Now, we obviously have questions about all of this, given that we have no idea who this person is and what kind of access they have to 7UP to give us this information. They also didn’t say when it would be coming out. But – unless our brains have been completely rotted by AI and we can no longer tell the difference, that picture is real, people. So we can only hope that 7UP kicks into gear and gets this one out sooner or later, and then that it gets released more widely.
Let’s Just Hope They Get It Right This Time…
It’s worth noting that this isn’t 7UP’s first attempt at a watermelon flavor. Last summer, it put out its 7UP Endless Summer flavor, a watermelon and strawberry combo that came in both regular and zero-sugar options. And it was… pretty bad, guys. While its regular version was kind of passable (although the watermelon flavor was just way too artificial), the zero-sugar option was nothing short of terrible.
We can only hope that 7UP has learned from its 2025 mistakes and figured out how to get its zero-sugar watermelon flavor right, because we’re very excited about this one, and we really don’t want it to be a flop. When we can get our hands on it, you’ll be the first to know what we think.
