Our Radioactive Review of the New Fallout x AriZona Green Tea Energy Drinks

War never changes, but the landscape of energy drinks never stops changing. Case in point: The inflation-fighting warriors over at AriZona Iced Tea just launched a new line of energy drinks in collaboration with the new Fallout series that just launched on Prime Video. While these aren’t the first AriZona energy drinks ever, these are the first energy drink variants of their famous green tea! We picked up the variety pack and sampled them as quickly as we could (without, y’know, inducing severe health risks). Here’s our review.

AriZona x Fallout Red Apple Green Tea Energy Drink

New AriZona Energy!

AriZona x Fallout Red Apple Green Tea Energy Drink

Pros: Red Apple doesn’t have much going for it in terms of pros, so I’ll take this time to talk about the caffeine content in these drinks. All three flavors include 234 milligrams of caffeine in a 22oz drink—more caffeine-per-oz than your average Monster or Red Bull, but less than an Alani Nu or Celsius. But officially speaking, the recommended serving size is 12oz. (Yeah, right.)

Cons: This was too damn tart. Red Apple isn’t a strong flavor typically, but it certainly found a way to kill the AriZona green tea flavor that I love. This was definitely the most “accurate” flavor for this collab specifically; it really tasted like a drink that spent 200 years being irradiated.

AriZona x Fallout Pomegranate Green Tea Energy Drink

New AriZona Energy!

AriZona x Fallout Pomegranate Green Tea Energy Drink

Pros: Pomegranate is a complementary addition to green tea, so this flavor was a lot better than Red Apple. I was pleasantly surprised that this drink had that trademark “dry” factor that pomegranate brings to the table.

Cons: While pomegranate is certainly a better fit for green tea than apple, it still doesn’t improve upon the original green tea in any major way. I’m honestly surprised this collaboration wasn’t just three standard AriZona flavors with extra caffeine mixed in. Arnold Palmer Energy would absolutely inspire me to get out there and pick up scrap.

AriZona x Fallout Georgia Peach Green Tea Energy Drink

New AriZona Energy!

AriZona x Fallout Georgia Peach Green Tea Energy Drink

Pros: As you might expect, Georgia Peach was the strongest flavor out of the three. The use of peach juice from concentrate imparts a “real” peach flavor, no small feat for this surprisingly-tricky fruit. If any of these AriZona green tea energy drinks are going to make their way onto shelves, I expect (and hope) it’s this one.

Cons: This is my favorite out of this trio without a doubt, but unless I’m in need of borderline-industrial quantities of caffeine, I’d still prefer a regular AriZona Green Tea. I love a cover, but sometimes the original version is just untouchable.
