6 of the Best Aldi Finds We Can’t Wait to Try This Month

As I tell my family every year, I don’t want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing I need, and that one thing is actually six things: The six most interesting and delectable-looking Aldi finds hitting shelves this month. What can I say? I’m easy. My love language is “buy me cool stuff from grocery store, pls” (are any of you surprised?). So in case you are my family (and let’s face it, you all are), let me tell you exactly what those six things are, right here in this list of the best Aldi finds to snag in December.

Emporium Selection Festive Cheese Truckle Assortment (Available Dec. 4, $4.29 each)

I do, in fact, love myself a truckle. Did I know what a truckle was before writing this article? No siree Bob, but hey, big ups to Google for informing me that a truckle is simply a unit of cheese that is coated in wax. Now that we have that bit of trivia out of the way, Aldi is offering four different truckles in fun flavors and festive shapes: whiskey cheddar shaped like a tree, cheddar with caramelized onions shaped like a snowman, black pepper cheddar shaped like a sweater, and mature cheddar shaped like a star. I truly don’t think you can go wrong. Plus, if you eat the cheese while watching a sitcom or reading this article you can have a truckle and a chuckle at the same time, and that right there is the spirit of Christmas, courtesy of the best Aldi finds.

Emporium Selection Cranberry or Honey & Pecan Baking Brie (Available Dec. 11, $7.49)

This is not a new Aldi item, but it is a seasonal one. And boy am I glad it’s back, because I have not had it and this is the year that changes. This positively scrumptious-looking product is a wheel of brie topped with either cranberry or honey and pecans that comes in a reusable ceramic baking dish that you just heat in the oven and then dip bread into. I don’t know about you but I am salivating, and if you aren’t you are either incorrect or lactose intolerant.

Sundae Shoppe Shortbread or Gingerbread Ice Cream Sandwiches (Available Dec. 11, $3.49)

As far as I can tell, these ice cream sandwiches are new to Aldi and also so McFrickin cute. Yes, it is literally two little gingerbread men with vanilla ice cream sandwiched between them, or two little shortbread men with peppermint ice cream betwixt. I fail to see how this Aldi find could possibly be bad, and therefore I must buy a box this season.

Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Loaded Potato Pizza (Available Dec. 18, $4.99)

Whaddaya know? Mama Cozzi is back at it again with her outside-the-box pizza flavors, and this time she is hitting us with that loaded baked potato vibe. This pie comes with cheese sauce, roasted potatoes, cheddar, mozzarella, and bacon, and, it does not come with this, but I personally believe this pizza with a runny fried egg on top might just make my week.

Specially Selected Chocolate Chip or Vanilla Cream Christmas Tree Brioche (Available Dec. 4, $7.49)

This is another returning seasonal item, and it just looks mighty nice for a warm breakfast on a cold winter’s morning. You get a bunch of brioche buns chock-full of chocolate chips or vanilla cream, arranged and baked in a tree shape so you can pull them apart individually once you are done ogling the tree shape. If you are like me and you don’t get out much, and you kill any houseplant you dare to name (RIP, Suckie the Succulent), maybe this is just the houseplant for you: a tree made out of delicious bread.

Specially Selected Vanilla Bean or Peppermint Marshmallows (Available Dec. 4, $3.49)

We love love love a good holiday marshmallow. Whether you’re garnishing a latte, a mug of hot cocoa, warm cookies, or my mouth, I am a firm believer that a nice little ‘shmallow never hurt anybody. Lucky for me, these new flavored marshmallows—vanilla bean and peppermint—are among the best Aldi finds this month. Yes, that means I have many vanilla bean- and peppermint-‘shmallowed lattes coming my way this season.

Side note: more artisanal coffee shops should give the “‘shmallowed” option for lattes. I think people would order it plus it would be extremely fun to hear serious adults order their daily coffee “‘shmallowed.”
