This taste test showed me that most ranch chips on the market are shockingly bad or embarrassingly forgettable. There are so many incredible ranch-flavored products. It seems like chips should be one of the easiest things to ranch-ify. Sadly, most ranch chips aren’t worth your time. I was skeptical of these grain-free chips because I don’t really like fad diet products. I do, however, like that these are accessible to vegans and people who are gluten and dairy free. Plus, I like the taste of these ranch tortilla chips! I don’t necessarily know if I’d know they were ranch unless someone told me. That being said, I enjoy the flavor. They’re super tangy in an almost addictive way. I wouldn’t dip them in anything. Instead, I’d enjoy their weird and crave-able flavor on its own.

Ranch Pringles made our list of the best Pringles and they’re also making the list of the best ranch chips in general. Sporked contributor Danny Palumbo said these remind him “of good quality ranch dressing” and that the Pringle “holds ranch seasoning very well.” I agree! They’re light, crispy, and actually taste like ranch. These are stand-up ranch chips that I would happily eat on a regular basis.

These were on our list of the best veggie chips and, honestly, these would be on my list of the best chips in general. The ranch flavor on these is great. They’re super crunchy. These made me like veggie chips. I brought these home after our taste test and snacked on them all week long. They went perfectly with turkey sandwiches at lunch and mixed in with popcorn while watching a movie. I would buy these with my own Sporked-earned money. That’s how much I like them!

If you’re looking for a ranch chip with heat, look no further! Herr’s Creamy Ranch & Habanero Potato Chips taste like ranch got into a fist fight with hot sauce. They’re actually spicy! After a few, your mouth start to tingle and your lips get a little dry. I imagine these would be sensationally good dipped into ranch dip to give you a double dose of that delicious, creamy flavor.

Cool Ranch Doritos are the king of Doritos and the king of ranch chips in general. They are simply iconic! They were our favorite flavor of Doritos (and, in my opinion, should be everyone’s favorite Doritos flavor). The ranch taste is so potent and zesty. They’re familiar while being uniquely their own thing. These are a classic for a reason. We all know and love Cool Ranch Doritos and they are, without a doubt, one of the best ranch chips you can buy.

If Cool Ranch Doritos are the king of ranch chips, Lay’s Cool Ranch Dorito Flavored Potato Chips are the queen. We were absolutely shocked by how much we liked these. These ranch chips were our “Best New Take on an Old Classic” last year here at Sporked. They’re like Cool Ranch Doritos, but even better. The ranch flavor is stronger and the potato compliments the taste beautifully. I could eat an entire bag of these in one sitting and I bet you could too!
