Reign energy drink flavors contain multitudes, much like Reign energy drinkers. You’ve got your Reign Total Body Fuel, an energy bev designed for serious gym rats with a whimsical streak, which comes in flavors like Sour Gummy Worm, White Gummy Bear, and Rainbow Sherbet. Then you’ve got your Reign Storm energy drink, a “clean energy” beverage that angles to appeal to a broader audience with a lineup of flavors that mostly occur in nature, like Mango, Harvest Grape, and Valencia Orange. But what are the best Reign energy drink flavors? Well, I tasted 13 and lived to give you an answer to that question.
Prior to this taste test, I was a Reign n00b. Now I have lots of thoughts about them. Reign energy drinks are all sugar free, but they are all very sweet because they’re sweetened with sucralose and other artificial sweeteners. They’re all carbonated, albeit very lightly, so they’re easy to drink. Sweetness aside, these are pretty refreshing. Now, I’m not a nutritionist or your trainer, so you’re on your own with the pre-workout macros, but I can tell you which flavors taste the best. Here are all the Reign energy drink flavors we could get our hands on, ranked from worst to best. If none of these appeal, check out our full ranking of the best energy drinks.

- Reign Melon Mania
-
Of all the Reign energy drink flavors we tried, this is the only one that made me say “yuck” out loud like a cartoon character. It’s so medicinal and so sweet, and, worst of all, it doesn’t taste like melon. It’s like a very aggressive fake cherry flavor. So, hey, I guess this is the best Reign flavor if you want to say “yuck” against your will!

- Reign Storm Peach Nectarine
-
It’s stone fruit season…in hell. Okay, fine. This is one of those Reign energy drink flavors that isn’t bad, per se, it’s just so, so sweet and aggressive. I love the restrained sweetness of peaches and nectarines, but that’s not what you’ll find in this Reign Storm energy drink. The aroma is nectarine-y, but the flavor is pretty far removed from anything that occurs naturally on planet Earth. This is more peach ring than peach.

- Reign Storm Mango
-
If you really, really like fake mango flavor, I suppose this is one of the best Reign flavors. Once again, it’s just so aggressive, but it’s not terribly far removed from the flavor of Mango White Claw, which we actually like quite a bit. There’s just something about the combo of mango flavor and the sweeteners in this Reign Storm energy drink that left a bad taste in my mouth (literally).

- Reign White Gummy Bear
-
I’m a freak for gummy candy. And I am aware that Haribo’s white pineapple-flavored white gummy bears have a cult following. I can conjure their flavor just by thinking about it. Unfortunately, Reign couldn’t do the same. It’s generically sweet with a suggestion of pineapple flavor. No way would I be able to place what they were going for if I’d been wearing a blindfold when I tasted this Reign energy drink.

- Reign Storm Kiwi Blend
-
Kiwi isn’t an easy flavor to nail, especially when you’re dealing with artificial sweeteners. Chances are, it’s just going to be way too sweet to be recognizable as mild, earthy kiwi. And sure enough, this Reign energy flavor tastes way more like green apple (the other component in the “blend”) than it does kiwi. Green apple candy, specifically. If you’re into that flavor profile, you just might think this is one of the best Reign energy drink flavors, but I really don’t think I could have finished a whole can.

- Reign Storm Harvest Grape
-
Calling this Reign Storm energy drink flavor “Harvest Grape” is deceiving. If you’re expecting fresh concord grapes plucked from the vine, you’ll be disappointed. It tastes like grape medicine. I mean, no shade—grape medicine is delicious. But lean into it instead of making it sound like we should expect fresh-from-the-vineyard flavor.

- Reign Sour Gummy Worm
-
As we’ve established, Reign energy drinks lean sweet, so candy flavors should work. But, much like White Gummy Bear, this one just kinda misses the mark. It tastes like fake grape flavor, not sour gummy worms. There is a touch of tang, which I liked, but I think they could have taken it a bit farther. Ghost’s sour flavors are super tart and tangy, and that’s a big part of their appeal. A little more tang and a little less grape and this might’ve been one of the best Reign flavors.

- Reign Storm Valencia Orange
-
Reign Storm drinks, which were released in 2023, look a lot like Celsius energy drinks and they also play up their “clean” energy profile. While Sparkling Orange is our favorite Celsius flavor, Reign Storm Valencia Orange is middling. It tastes like Tang (minus the tang), with an artificial sweetener flavor that lingers on your tongue. It’s not the best Reign energy flavor, but if you like phony tasting orange drinks like Hi-C Orange Lavaburst, you’ll probably like this.

- Reign Tropical Storm
-
This Reign energy drink flavor is also orange-y, but has more citrusy tang than Reign Storm Valencia Orange. And since it’s a punch, you can just sort of let the various fruity flavors wash over you without worrying too much about what’s what. This reminded me of Sunny D, but nowhere near as thick and with a little bit of carbonation.

- Reign Storm Guava Strawberry
-
All of the Reign energy drink flavors are sweet, but this one is especially sweet. Still, it’s pretty pleasant thanks to a recognizable combo of guava and strawberry. Could it use more guava? Definitely. Does it taste predominantly like strawberry candy? Yep to that, too. But it’s one of the best Reign flavors if you like summery fruit flavors.

- Reign Storm Citrus Zest
-
I know I already said Reign Tropical Storm tastes like Sunny D, but this Reign energy drink flavor has Sunny D vibes, too. It tastes like a pleasant citrus punch, minus the tartness or tang. I do wish it were zestier, given the name. But this is still one of the best Reign flavors if you want something tasty and drinkable.

- Reign Reignbow Sherbet
-
I like sherbet. I like puns. And I like this Reign energy flavor. It really tastes like rainbow sherbet—you can pick out the limey tang and a little bit of creamy orange flavor, too. As soon as you smell it, you could probably place the flavor, and that’s more than I can say for a lot of Reign energy drink flavors. This tastes good and it’s accurate, which makes it one of the best Reign energy drink flavors.

- Reign Orange Dreamsicle
-
Orange Dreamsicle is the perfect flavor profile for a cloyingly sweet drink like Reign. This is orangey and has a powerful vanilla creaminess. It tastes pretty much exactly like a good orange cream soda. Okay, a diet orange cream soda, but my point stands. This just works. It’s the best Reign flavor we tried.
