The Best Things We Ate This Week (May 15-19)

Every week, the Sporked team sidles up to the tasting table and sets out to find the absolute best of the best packaged foods, the gold hidden in the grocery aisles. Each week we’ll bring you five standouts that truly rocked our taste buds and changed our lives—or at least our buying habits. Here are the best things we ate this week.

Starburst Fruit by the Foot

Starburst Fruit by the Foot tastes exactly like Starburst. It’s like they took Starbursts and put them in the Fruit by the Foot rolling machine (which is how I assume they make all Fruit by the Foot). If you like Starbursts, you should buy this as soon as possible. You will love them!

Kroger Creamy Agave & Smoked Chipotle Taco Sauce

This creamy agave and smoked chipotle taco sauce from Kroger is the perfect fish taco sauce. It’s rich, sweet, and a little spicy. For all the gourmands out there, it tastes very similar to the Dairy Queen FlameThrower sauce that they no longer make. It’s like more complex, next-level chipotle mayo. Yum.

Life Savers Gummies Sours

Sour gummies rule and these are some of the best. They’re super sour, have a firm chew, and a bunch of different flavors. The name “Life Savers” doesn’t typically excite me. After trying these gummies, it will. Just thinking about Life Savers now makes my mouth water.

Zapp’s Sweet Creole Onion Kettle Chips

This was the only flavor of Zapp’s chips I hadn’t tried and I’m glad they’ve come into my life. They’re incredibly tasty. You get tons of real onion flavor and a nice sweetness. And, as always with Zapp’s, you get a fantastic crunch and wonderful greasiness.

Choceur Dark Chocolate Coconut Covered Almonds

These delicious coated almonds from Aldi are like a Mounds and an Almond Joy wrapped up into one little bite. They’re crunchy, creamy, and the coconut flavor is not artificial at all. I bet even dark chocolate haters will like these because the chocolate isn’t bitter at all. Good job on these, Aldi!
