The Best Things We Ate This Week (April 10-14)

Every week, the Sporked team sidles up to the tasting table and sets out to find the absolute best of the best packaged foods, the gold hidden in the grocery aisles. Each week we’ll bring you five standouts that truly rocked our taste buds and changed our lives—or at least our buying habits. Here are the best things we ate this week.

Q Mixers Spectacular Bloody Mary Mix

I don’t know about you, but we’re not having big brunch parties every weekend. Because of that, it’s hard to kill a whole bottle of Bloody Mary mix. Thanks to Q Mixers, now you don’t have to! These tiny cans of Bloody Mary mix are the perfect size for a single drink—and they’re absolutely delicious.

Applegate The Great Organic Uncured Turkey Hot Dog

If you’re a classic hot dog lover looking to make the switch to turkey, buy these! They are as close as you’ll get to a traditional hot dog in turkey dog form. They are super tasty and have a great snap. An added bonus: They’re organic!

J.L. Kraft Burger Special Sauce

Kraft is pretty hit or miss with us. Their mac and cheese? Yes. Their salad dressings? More often than not, no. We were not feeling hopeful about this Kraft burger sauce, but we were wrong. Sorry, Kraft! This is delicious. It’s super salty, savory, and has a great horseradish-y zip. It’s very different from other burger sauces that taste like thousand island dressing. This wouldn’t just be good on a burger. This would be good on anything.

Trader Joe’s Thai Green Curry Frozen Meal

I cannot believe this tastes good. Historically, Trader Joe’s curries are horrible. This, on the other hand, is phenomenal. First of all, it’s actually spicy! Secondly, the vegetables are great. I could’ve eaten an entire bowl of the curry sauce with just the tender baby eggplant. Lastly, the tofu skins are silky and delicate. I would absolutely buy this again in a heartbeat.

Lay’s Sweet Southern Heat Barbecue Potato Chips

These might be my new favorite potato chips of all time. They are so incredibly delicious. They deliver everything they promise in the title. They are sweet, spicy, and perfectly barbecue-y. They’re thin but sturdy, and fully dusted with flavor powder. Run to the store right now, and I mean run, to get yourself a bag of these.
