Functional drinks have been all the rage for a minute now – and by “a minute,” I mean years – but drink brands aren’t showing any signs of taking their foot off the gas. Instead, 2027 is shaping up to be a big year for drink lines and sublines that focus more intensely on nutrition and exercise support. That’s probably not too surprising, really: By and large, we’ve moved past the allure of high-sugar, artificially flavored sports drinks as a society, and towards sugar-free sources of clean energy.

Which brings me neatly to CELSIUS. The functional energy and fitness drink brand is gearing up to release a new Vibe flavor, and it’s also bringing back another one. Let’s talk.
CELSIUS Limón Vibe
This week, we received word from @snachwithzach and @SodaSeekers (aka Griffin Parker, chief soda scribe here at Sporked) that we’re getting a double dose of Celsius in the coming months. The first comes in the form of its new Limón Vibe, which will be dropping around the start of December. This limeade-y drink will have all the traits people love about the Vibe line – a slightly more left-field flavor profile, plus a bunch of caffeine and no sugar – and it’s a nice boost of citrus flavors when the weather really starts to get wintery. Think of it as a way to keep that summer dream alive, baby.
But that’s not all, folks! CELSIUS is also dropping Strawberry Watermelon as a regular addition to its lineup. Strawberry Watermelon has existed, and does exist, in a few forms in Celsius lore: It’s available as a standard Celsius internationally, and Galaxy Vibe has (or had) a strawberry watermelon flavor profile. Now, though, this drink is vibe-free, and I stress that’s not a criticism of it – it’s just in Celsius’ regular line now.
The Verdict
Honestly, we’re into it! Having new flavors to get excited about is always a good thing, and while we may not have vibed with every vibe (Electric Vibe didn’t blow us away earlier this year), Limón sounds like it’ll be a winner. As for Strawberry Watermelon, we have to say that we didn’t 100% love it when it was in its Galaxy Vibe form, so this one might be down to personal taste: We ranked it 23rd out of 27 in our taste-test of Celsius flavors, but we also gave it an 8.5 out of 10 in a separate sampling. Could it be divisive? Yes. Will it give the Celsius line a little frisson? Also yes. Are more options a good thing? In our book, yes. In short: We’re ready.
