This Classic Ice Cream Just Got A Retro Refresh With A New Flavor

The classic hits just keep on a’comin’. This year, we’ve seen frozen dessert and candy brands embrace nostalgia big-time, with new forms and revivals popping up virtually every other week. The never-ending draw of old-school flavors isn’t exactly surprising, but the frequency with which they’re appearing is definitely noteworthy. What’s in the air? Is the world just so stressful and chaotic nowadays that we’re all taking solace in what we know and love, and the rosy tint of days gone by?

Honestly? Probably – that’s one of the key drivers behind nostalgia’s appeal. But I’m not going to get too interrogative about it. I’ve got a new Drumstick flavor to discuss!

Drumstick Strawberry Shortcake Cones

This week, we’ve learned via @markie_devo (of course, who else?) that Drumstick is releasing new Strawberry Shortcake Cones. These cones will come with a strawberry center and (presumably) a strawberry-flavored frozen dairy dessert encased in a white chocolate-flavored shell, wth pink and white crumbles studding the outside. The cone has a little chocolate nugget at the bottom, for a burst of extra chocolatey flavor and goodness. 

It should be pointed out that, by the looks of things, this isn’t a collab with Good Humor, but rather a new wielding of strawberry shortcake flavors. That’s something people seem to be hoping for in the comments, anyway: “This better not taste like Good Humor’s strawberry shortcake,” said one person on @markie_devo’s post. We can’t speak to that yet; maybe it’ll taste exactly like that. Others, though, seem to be excited about this new Drumstick option – and I think it sounds good! I’ve always been a big fan of strawberry and white chocolate, though, so I would say that.

According to @markie_devo, Drumstick Strawberry Shortcake Cones will be dropping in major stores soon, so keep your eyes on the freezer section. When they’re available, they’ll be in the standard 4-packs. It feels a slightly odd move to drop something so summery as we move from fall to winter, but hey – I’m not in charge of these things. 

It’s the latest move from Drumstick in what’s been a year that started busy, and then got slightly calmer over the summer. The top of 2026 saw the brand release its cake pop and WWE flavors, both of which, it must be said, aren’t a million miles away from this one. For its part, Good Humor has had a busy 2026, too, with its new Strawberry Shortcake frozen dessert and collaboration with Cove Soda.
