Looks like bacon’s back on the menu. Did it ever leave, I hear you ask? No. It didn’t. But allow me the rhetorical flourish at the start of the article to preface what’s to come. We’ve had a lot of Freddy’s news over the last few months: Over the summer, it was leading with its Custard Tour, 13 straight weeks of custard drops (which is still going on for a few days, if you’re interested). Along the way, we got new drinks and custard deals – but there was a conspicuous lack of new savory menu items appearing with these.

That’s now changed. Freddy’s has just announced Bacon Fest, and as you might expect…there’s a lot of pork involved. Here’s what you should know.
Freddy’s Bacon Fest
Bacon Fest may sound a little grander than it actually is: It’s essentially the name for Freddy’s new limited-time menu. No actual festival involved. No musical acts. No fairground rides. No stall selling bottles of water at a ludicrously high price to a crowd in desperate need of hydration. Nothing.
If you don’t feel cheated by all of this, though, you may well enjoy the four items it’ll be selling for the next few months. And those items are…
- Smoky Bacon Cheddar Stack: Two steakburger patties are layered with melted cheddar cheese, four slices of crispy Applewood bacon, and grilled onions, in a toasted King’s Hawaiian bun and slathered with Freddy’s Smoky Fry Sauce. Freddy’s fans might remember this one from last summer; apparently, the chain couldn’t let it go.
- Smoky Bacon Steakburger Taco: Taco time! A steakburger patty, melted cheddar cheese, a slice of bacon, lettuce, and Smoky Fry Sauce are all placed in a grilled flour tortilla.
- Bacon Loaded Tots: Freddy’s tots are hit with cheese sauce, cheddar, Monterey Jack, and crumbled bacon.
- Maple Pecan Concrete: And for a sweet-savory finish, a blend of vanilla frozen custard, maple pancake syrup, and pecans, with your choice of bacon swirled through or crumbled on top.
When Can I Get These, Please?
Freddy’s Bacon Fest is launching on September 2 – and it’s sticking around for a while. The limited-time menu will be available until November 3, but think about how fast summer went. Yes, that’s two months, but June feels like it was last week…and now, it’s gone. What I’m saying is, if you’ve been dreaming of a bacon Concrete Mixer, don’t sleep on it.
