Gatorade is here to answer the question we’ve all been afraid to ask: What if you mix TWO Gatorades in ONE bottle? Sure enough, two “new” Gatorade flavors are hitting shelves now: Cool Blue + Fruit Punch and Lemon Lime + Orange. While this groundbreaking work hasn’t yet been awarded a Nobel Prize in Chemistry, I’m sure it’s just lost in the mail. Let’s find out whether these familiar Gatorades can Voltron themselves into a flavor greater than their parts.
- Gatorade Mashups Cool Blue + Fruit Punch Thirst Quencher
-
Pros: This new Gatorade flavor tastes like a blue fruit punch, which means it is living up to all the expectations I cannot quantify in words.
Cons: Do I know exactly what a “blue fruit punch” tastes like? No! Gatorade Cool Blue doesn’t have a specific flavor—it’s labeled as a temperature and a color. Gatorade’s take on Fruit Punch is more familiar, but it’s just as vague in terms of concrete flavor notes. I think the novelty of combining two flavors would be a little more impressive if we actually knew what those flavors really were in the first place.

- Gatorade Mashups Lemon Lime + Orange Thirst Quencher
-
Pros: This new Gatorade is a very solid blend of citrus flavors. It reminds me of Ski, the very underrated orange-lemon soda that I only ever find at Buc-ee’s. I’d pick this flavor over the standard Lemon Lime or Orange Gatorades any day of the week.
Cons: That said, I’m still picking one standard Gatorade flavor over this mashup any day of the year: Gatorade Glacier Cherry is the best Gatorade ever made; feel free to argue with that in the comments.

What’s next for Gatorade?
Recently, Gatorade has been following in the Coca-Cola Creations tradition of “let’s come up with a cool name/label design and figure out the flavor afterwards.” I’ve got a couple bottles of the brand new “Summer Blaze” and “Electric Flash” that I might be reviewing here on Sporked next month. That said, Gatorade is also releasing at least one more flavor combination in the Mashups line before the end of the year: Glacier Freeze and previously-stated GOAT Glacier Cherry. You better believe I’ll be reviewing that Mashup when I get my hands on it.
Where can I find these new Gatorade flavors for myself?
The first two Gatorade Mashups should be available wherever large varieties of Gatorades are sold. At this time, there aren’t any plans to release this in the classic mini-bottle variety 18-pack, but it feels like an obvious choice once the third Mashup flavor comes out.

Griffin Parker is a writer, award-winning charity auctioneer, and "influencer in the beverage space" according to a few PR agencies. Please do not ask him about the cotton candy business he started right out of high school. When he's not contributing to Sporked or running the @SodaSeekers news pages, you can find Griffin espousing the virtues of Dayton-style pizza, Cincinnati-style chili, and Dolly Parton's Fabulously Fudgy Brownie Mix.
I want a flavor with the grape one
Cherry Glacier Frost is the best Gatorade there is!
When Pepsico had its Black Label Mountain Dew… I’d mix 1/2 & 1/2, sadly they’ve dropped the Black Label line.
(Mountain Dew Black Label was a Dark Berry Punch flavor of Mountain Dew)
I was just reading an article on here about Mountain Dew, and had the thought of them putting 2 flavors together like this. I scroll down and see this article.
Green apple Gatorade
Citrus Cooler was a legendary flavor. Loved it and have no idea why it went away.
