Jack in the Box has been at the top of our minds over the last few weeks – but not because of its food. Instead, the fast food chain has been focusing a little more on its merch options, with its World Cup merch, its Sipper Cup, and its Jibbis, or bag charms. Now, all of those have been up our street (especially the World Cup merch, which I still think is very cool) – but of course, we have to pivot back to the food eventually. It’s the main event, after all.

Well, Jack in the Box has given us reason to do just that. It’s adding new fries to its menu, and you’ll probably need a napkin to get through them (not that that’s a bad thing). Let’s take a look.
Jack in the Box Cheesy Ranch Sauced & Loaded Curly Fries
Jack in the Box’s new loaded fries are a feast for the senses. By that, I mean that there are a bunch of different textures and flavors going on, and that your eyes may take a minute to adjust to the mess. That’s not a negative in any way, just FYI – I love a messy loaded fry dish – but yeah, these aren’t exactly the kind of thing you’d serve at a stately function.
Anyway, to the food itself. The Cheesy Ranch Sauced & Loaded Curly Fries combine Jack in the Box’s curly fries with shredded cheddar cheese and cheese sauce, and then, if all that dairy wasn’t enough, they’re finished with a drizzle of ranch. Expect savoriness, saltiness, a few herbal inflections – but also, obviously, a lot of cheesiness.
This Feels…Familiar…
Yup. The keen Jack in the Box observers amongst you will likely recall that the restaurant used to serve Triple Cheese Bacon Loaded Fries, which was pretty much exactly the same setup, but with bacon pieces. And some people…feel like that was better. One person on Reddit called Jack in the Box out for slightly cheaping out on this offer – especially considering that the Triple Cheese Bacon Loaded Fries used to cost around $3 to $3.50, whereas these are coming in at $4.
That said, though, these still look good – and vegetarians will no doubt be happy to have a non-bacon version (although we’re sure the former type was easily customizable). These are a limited-time deal, though, so if you want them, grab them at your nearest Jack in the Box before they’re gone.
