Jersey Mike's Fan-Favorite Sandwich Is Back, For Now

It feels like Jersey Mike’s is in the mood to look back. To reflect. To return to basics – if, by basics, you mean menu items that it knows are a hit with its customers. Just a couple of weeks back, we brought you word that Jersey Mike’s was bringing back Dr. Pepper (although this came at the expense of Cherry Pepsi, which is a goner), and now, it’s got something else landing in its stores once more.

Rejoice, Chicken Fans, This One’s For You

Jersey Mike’s has just confirmed on Instagram that its chicken salad is back in the building, news which has brought much rejoicing to the world (well, to its comment section, at least). The chain revealed the sandwich’s return in a reel soundtracked to “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk, with a chicken salad sandwich stuffed to the gills, and an on-screen caption reading “you’re welcome.” You’re beating the shrinkflation accusations with this one, Jersey Mike’s, but we think we’ll wait to see what people actually make of it when they buy it for themselves.

Jersey Mike’s chicken salad first dropped last year, and as Delish notes, it was such a success that it was around for just a few weeks before it sold out. The secret lies in its freshness: Although it’s a fairly standard chicken salad made from chicken breast, celery, and a mayo dressing, it’s the fact that it’s mixed daily that sets it apart from the rest. Like its other options, you can get it as a sub, a bowl, or a wrap. The choice is yours, people.

…And The Chicken Fans Are Indeed Rejoicing!

Over on Instagram, that comment section we mentioned promptly blew up when this video dropped. People variously said that they were crying with happiness, that they’d been waiting for this day to come, and that they were desperate for Jersey Mike’s to make it permanent. It’s kinda weird that they haven’t, given that chicken salad is such a winner (and clearly, this one hits different) – but there’s a lot of power in not doing so, we guess.
