Spooky fast food items? Can’t get enough of ‘em. This is the time of year when chains everywhere dig in and deliver their biggest and best Halloween vibes, some of them way more successfully than others (we were left slightly disappointed by Burger King’s Halloween menu this year, although the Vampire Sprite, which comes with a candy straw, was a lot of fun). Although it’s tempting for restaurants to go big during spooky season and deliver something utterly wild and overblown, the best ones mix it up just a little, offering ever-so-slightly haunted food items that nonetheless still stay very manageable, from a consumption point of view.

Which is why we were left impressed by KFC Spain’s Halloween burger, which takes inspiration from a snack to deliver something that looks very tasty indeed.

KFC Spain Cheetos Pandilla Burger

This year, KFC Spain has debuted a new Cheetos Pandilla burger for its Halloween season, and it looks like a winner. Each sandwich contains two fried chicken patties crowned with cheese, bacon, and a custom Cheetos Pandilla-flavored sauce. It’s housed in a brioche bun, with ghost and bat designs printed on top.

Crucially, Cheetos Pandilla may share a name with US Cheetos (and the same umbrella company, PepsiCo), but it’s a slightly different affair. Cheetos Pandilla are made with corn and potatoes, and while they have a similarly cheesy flavor, it’s slightly milder (and with more of a potato-forward note, as you’d expect from its composition). What excites us most about this sandwich, though, is the fact that the Cheetos Pandilla flavor is almost secondary to the other components – which definitely wasn’t the case with the US wing of the restaurant’s recent Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Menu. KFC Spain’s Halloween menu is rounded out by loaded fries, also containing the sauce, and the sauce available on the side as a separate order.

Why Do They Get All The Fun?

KFC Spain’s new Halloween options have been looked upon with envy by diners elsewhere in the world. “Spain is lucky to get such a Halloween menu for their KFCs,” said one person on Reddit, while others pointed out that the ghost print on the top of the bun has a nice flair to it, and that the burger itself looks massive. As ever, we’ll reserve judgment until we see it in the flesh; fast food promotional images have a, shall we say, tendency not to actually look like the real thing. With all that said, though, there are plenty of Halloween food options this year to tide everyone over, without having to book a flight to Barcelona — but this one really does look tasty.
