The chefs at Burger King HQ have been mighty busy recently. Between improving their chicken nugget recipe and launching an all-timer of a pretzel bun burger, you’d think they’d take the spooky season off (aside from the obligatory kids’ meal promotion). How wrong you’d be!
This week, Burger King launched a brand-new beverage innovation just in time for Halloween. The Vampire’s Bite Strawberry & Sprite is, no spoilers, exactly what you’d expect from the name. The groundbreaking part of this new drink is, of all things, the straw. Burger King has partnered with Sour Punch to offer a strawberry Sip-n-Chew edible candy straw with this fruity new drink. BK was nice enough to send over a gift card for us to try the Vampire’s Bite for ourselves; let’s see if this will have us thirsting for more in the dead of night.
- Vampire’s Bite Strawberry & Sprite with Sour Punch Sip-n-Chew Straw Review

-
Pros: Anyone who’s explored the non-caffeinated options in a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine knows Strawberry and Sprite is a winning combination. Burger King is not skimping on the syrup either; this is a very strawberry-y take on the classic lemon-lime combination. If you find certain fruity sodas too sweet, this drink will knock you upside down and backward.
And I don’t want to overstate the importance of this candy straw, but it feels like a door has been blown open. Can you imagine the flavor potential if Burger King stocked these straws year-round? How would you like to slurp their next Freezee King innovation through a specially-paired candy straw? I will buy stock if BK commits to offering Frozen Cokes with Cherry Sour-Punch Sip-n-Chew straws.
Cons: The candy straw does have a habit of gluing itself together after every couple of bites, so you may need to manually open up the sticky candy hole every once in a while. (I promise, that was the least gross way to phrase that.)

How can I get the Vampire’s Bite Strawberry & Sprite with Sour Punch Sip-n-Chew Straw for myself?
What a mouthful! This spooky new drink will be available at Burger King locations starting this week while supplies last. I have a feeling the candy straws will run out long before Bk’s ability to add strawberry syrup to Sprite; if you really need to try the next evolution of non-plastic straws, get to a Burger King sooner than later.
