So there I was, walking the aisles of Dayou International Market here in Columbus looking for more clickable foods and drinks when I found a few international Pepsi cans with a cool label design claiming to be “ZERO SUGAR MOJITO FLAVOR.” Today, I’ve got a can of Mojito-flavored Pepsi Zero Sugar from Korea—let’s find out what exactly that means.

Pros: When you crack into this can you’re hit in the nose with lime—and very little Pepsi aroma. Zero-sugar colas usually have their own aroma, but this is pure lime to the point that I was a little worried before I took my first sip. That worry was not entirely warranted. While this doesn’t truly bring “cola” to mind, it’s certainly a refreshing zero-sugar lime soda.

Cons: It’s not a Pepsi! I’ve had quite a few international Pepsi drinks (zero and full sugar), and they all tasted like Pepsi to a certain degree—but not this. This soda is 99% Pepsi-free—a positive for Coke die-hards, but a tragedy for Pepsi fans who were hoping for a new take on something familiar.

Where can I get my hands on international Pepsi flavors?

I could shout this to the heavens every day, and it wouldn’t be enough: just Google “international grocery near me.” You almost certainly have a deserving small business near you selling unique yet familiar products just like the ones I cover here—at a much better price than the online snack shops that mark everything up to a major premium. (Those shops have their place when you’ve got something super specific you’re looking for, but at large, I prefer shopping in person and letting the cool finds find me.)
