It’s pretty rare to make the perfect amount of iced tea. Unless you have some kind of prophetic ability to know exactly how much everyone’s going to drink of it, you can either end up running dry and hurrying to the kitchen to get another batch going – or, perhaps more likely, with way too much. If it’s the latter, hey! I respect it. Generosity is a virtue. But obviously, you’re then left with a load of leftover iced tea, and perhaps less inclination to drink it than you had a few hours ago.

Well, we’re here to provide. We’ve already talked about the best ways to use up leftover lemonade; now, let’s talk about all the cool ways you can use up leftover iced tea.
It’s Cocktail Time
Turn your afternoon drink into an evening one by using leftover iced tea in a cocktail. Iced tea brings a sweet, yet full flavor to alcoholic mixed drinks, with a slightly herbaceous undertone that makes it a more interesting addition than just a standard juice or mixer. Try a bourbon tea, made with bourbon, iced tea, and a splash of limoncello as a sweetener and for a citrusy note. If you want something vodka-based, a tea-tini, which mixes vodka, iced tea, and lemon juice, will also hit the spot. Hard iced tea is the best, folks.
Popsicle Season Is Here
Turning iced tea into popsicles is an underrated move. You’ve already got all the flavors there: All you need to do is pour it into popsicle moulds and pop them in the freezer until set. Iced tea popsicles are slightly less intense than store-bought ones, but they still have all the sweetness you want from this frozen treat.
That said, you can always jazz them up even more. Try pouring in some flavored syrup before you freeze them, to give them a boost of flavor and more punch (which can sometimes be lost when the tea is frozen solid). Alternatively, add an extra spritz of lemon juice.
Fancy Some Breakfast?
“Iced tea overnight oats” are not four words that we thought we’d be typing one day – but it’s 2026, and here we are. It might sound wild, but a splash of iced tea in your regular overnight oats recipe can give it a lot more flavor than you’d expect: The tea acts as a sweetener, sure, but it also lends the oats an ever-so-slight earthy note.
Turn It Into Ice Cubes, Baby
Okay, so I know this one sounds the same as turning it into popsicles, and I know we’ve suggested this for lemonade, too – but it’s still worth pointing out! The flavor killer of iced tea – indeed, the flavor killer of all cold drinks – is the ice itself, which dilutes it and reduces its glorious intensity. Devote an ice cube tray to iced tea ice cubes (I’ll stop saying ice now), and whenever you make your next batch, it’ll stay potent and tasty to the last drop.
