Anything that takes the vibe of Thin Mints cookies and puts them in another snack successfully is a winner in our book – and this year, we’ve seen this happen a couple of times. Krispy Kreme and Wendy’s are but two of the brands that have turned the Girl Scout Cookies flavor into something else entirely, and both of them did it well. The only problem? Their Thin Mints donut and Frosty, respectively, were big. Sizeable snacks. Filling. And what if you want all those Thin Mints notes but in a smaller form? What then, I ask?

Well, then you reach for M&M’s newest flavor. This one’s got Thin Mints written aaaaalllll over it.
M&M’s Mint Crunchy Cookie
M&M’s has just revealed its Mint Crunchy Cookie flavor – and while the candy brand is not explicitly saying that these are inspired by Thin Mints, or teaming up with Girl Scouts of the USA, the inspiration feels pretty direct. Each M&M combines a blend of milk chocolate and mint flavor on the outside, with a crunchy cookie center within. M&M’s Mint Crunchy Cookies follow hot on the heels of M&M’s Crunchy Cookie, which came out in 2022 (okay, not quite hot on the heels, given that it was four years ago), and they go for all your senses.
This new M&M’s flavor will be a Walmart exclusive, and it’ll be available starting in September. It’s actually already listed on the retailer’s website, too, to drum up some excitement (for $2.78 for a 2.83 oz. Share Size). It’s far from the only mint flavor that M&M’s has made – its Crispy Mint variety remains one of the discontinued flavors we miss the most – and it feels well-timed for the impending holiday season. Your new holiday favorite, maybe?
Minty Magic?
Although M&M’s Mint Crunchy Cookie aren’t officially out until next month, some people have already gotten their hands on them – and the response has been mixed. Over on Instagram, both @markie_devo and @snackolator posted about these new M&M’s, and in each comment section, I spied people who had professed to have sampled them. “Just tried these. So good,” said one, while the other said, “They aren’t great. The texture is like a Rice Krispie not a cookie. Minty though.”
We are, of course, chomping at the bit to try them here — and maybe, just maybe, we will. Watch this space, people. For everyone else, they’ll be available in a few weeks.
