To state the absolute obvious, food is pretty expensive in 2026. And restaurants are feeling the pinch. The ever-rising cost of ingredients like beef has hit chains particularly hard, and in some situations, they’ve had to reflect that rise in the amount they ask customers to pay – leaving some of them furious. So, it’s always nice when restaurants actively try not just to keep their core prices down, but also when they introduce more typically expensive menu items at lower prices.

That’s exactly what Moe’s Southwest Grill is promising with its dish. It’s introducing a new brisket option, which it promises isn’t going to harm your wallet too much. Let’s discuss.
Moe’s Shredded Beef Brisket
Moe’s has just shared with Sporked that it’s bringing an all-new Shredded Beef Brisket to its menu this July 14th. This “slow-smoked, melt-in-your-mouth premium protein” (Moe’s words, not ours) will be available in its burritos, tacos, nachos, and bowls, and will join its other meat options.
Crucially, Moe’s states that its Shredded Beef Brisket will come “without the sticker shock” – and simultaneously pointed out that wholesale Texas brisket has risen almost 30% in the last 12 months. What that translates to in its actual pricing is less clear (as it’s still six weeks away from dropping, we’re not sure just how much the brisket will set you back by way of additional charge, if at all), but we like that Moe’s has set out its stall with this one. It’ll only be available for a limited time, though, so don’t dawdle come July.
Protein Without The Price (Almost)
Elsewhere, Moe’s says that it’s staying true to its mission of keeping things reasonable in the face of spiralling food costs. The chain says that it’s committed to making “steak and limited-time barbacoa available at fast-casual prices,” year-round for its customers. Of course, you’ll still have to pay – but it’s nice to know that it’s not brazenly inflating everything without a care in the world.
Its move to keep prices low comes at a time when other fast food chains are renewing their focus on value meals. Sonic has just dropped a new $7 meal deal and updated its $1.99 menu, while Popeyes has revived two of its fan-favorite deals. We started the year with a bunch of value menus, and it’s carrying on throughout 2026 – and honestly? We love to see it. Keep ‘em coming, folks. We love saving money!
