We are spoiled, y’all: Monster Energy released four new energy drinks at the same time. We’ve already covered the tempting “Bad Apple” and enigmatic “Electric Blue”, and we’ll be taking a look at the stateside release of Lando Norris soon. (You can check out our own Vinz Karl’s review of the original U.K. formula right now.) Today, we’re cracking open a can of full-sugar Orange Dreamsicle that Monster Energy was kind enough to give us back at NACS Expo. Let’s see whether this dreamsicle-inspired energy drink can do the job of keeping us away from dreamland.
Pros: I opened this can and immediately got hit in the nose by an ice cream truck. Seriously, this scent is dead-on to the Good Humor bar we have to thank for the creamsicle flavor profile’s popularity. The flavor and texture of the drink deliver as well; this is as creamy and sweet as the namesake treat. I’m making it official: This is the best full sugar Monster Energy drink on shelves right now.
Cons: Despite liking this more than Electric Blue, I actually couldn’t drink it as quickly. The sweetness is so intense, it’s tough to chug. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it takes this Monster out of contention for anyone who drinks energy drinks out of necessity rather than pleasure. And, much like this drink’s bright blue sibling, the sugar content is a little much at 93% of your daily added sugar.

Wasn’t there already an Orange Dreamsicle Monster Energy?
Monster Energy sold an Orange Dreamsicle energy drink as part of their “Reserve” line until earlier this year. While it hasn’t been officially announced, I believe the entire Reserve line was discontinued to make way for this to-be-named new subline of full sugar energy drinks. Electric Blue and Orange Dreamsicle share a specific new can design scheme that I expect we’ll see expanded with further flavors in the future.
Electric Blue and Orange Dreamsicle aren’t the only new Monster Energy drinks hitting shelves. Read about all eleven new Monster Energy drinks releasing between now and May 2026.
Which new full-sugar Monster do you think is worth a full day's worth of sugar?
