Hey. Yeah, you. It’s been a rough day (month, year, etc.), huh? Welp, we can’t fix the horrors that plague you, but we can alert you to some of the new candy coming out this month, because it’s much harder to uncontrollably sob or release the mother of all primal screams with a mouthful of goodies! We’ve already covered the new Halloween candy that’s on shelves this year (the Kit Kat trick or treat variety pack is pretty epic!), but here are some other treats to keep an eye out for this month. Also, take this as your reminder to schedule a dental cleaning—no one needs cavities on top of everything else.

Nerds Juicy Gummy Clusters

My colleague Justine Sterling LOVES a candy with goo in the middle, so this one’s for her (JK, Justine really, really hates goo-in-the-middle-candies and I’m being antagonistic). Basically, what we have here is a cross between Gushers and Nerds Gummy Clusters, and that sounds awfully fun: you’re getting crunch, chew, and now goo, too. The flavor? Strawberry Punch. Sounds good, right? There’s no official release date for these suckers (our own Griffin Parker says you can expect to see them by the end of the year), but a few other outlets are saying to keep an eye out in October. (Sticky) fingers crossed!

Ferrero Rocher Squares

Ferrero Rocher is famous for those big, crispy, hazelnut truffle-type candies that are popular around Christmastime, when you inevitably have to buy gifts for people you don’t know that well but can safely assume enjoy chocolate and things that taste good. Now they’ve crammed all that creamy, nutty goodness into little squares that are hitting stores as we speak in four flavors: Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate, Caramel, and Dark Chocolate. We got an early taste and absolutely loved them—the dark chocolate scored a 10/10!

Dr Pepper Tic Tac

A few years ago, Tic Tac released Sprite-inspired mints that contained a little bit of sodium bicarbonate so they’d be fizzy in your mouth, and now Dr Pepper is getting the same treatment. These made their debut at the Sweets & Snacks back in May (we even got to try them!) and word on the street is that they’ll finally be rolling out this month to put some Dr Pep in your step.

Mini Reese’s Christmas Trees

Yep, it’s not even Halloween yet and the Christmas candy is already popping up in grocery stores. These little peanut butter-filled trees come unwrapped in a share-size bag, much like Reese’s Mini Pumpkins, which we liked even though they look like fat little toes. These are hitting stores now, so keep your eyes peeled.

Honey Roasted Peanut M&M’s

It’s not every day we get new Peanut M&M’s, especially Peanut M&M’s that borrow inspiration from classic airline snacks. These are rolling out as we speak, and even though we don’t think they’re amazing, they’re worth seeking out if you’re curious about new M&M’s flavors.

About the Author

Gwynedd Stuart

Howdy! I’m Gwynedd, Sporked’s managing editor. I live in Los Angeles and have access to the best tacos the U.S. has to offer—but I’m a sucker for a crunchy Old El Paso taco night every now and then. I’ve been at Sporked since 2022 and I’m still searching frozen mozzarella sticks that can hold a candle to restaurant sticks. Why you should trust me: I’ve been a journalist for 20 years (yikes), a consumer of food for 40-plus years, and I’m truly hard pressed to think of foods I don’t like (or that I can’t tolerate at the very least). Oh and one time I cooked my way through Guy Fieri’s cookbook and wrote about the journey through Flavortown. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s Original Savory Thins. Fat free plain yogurt (usually Fage or Nancy’s). Honeycrisp apples. Sweet cream coffee creamer for my at-home Americanos. A frozen cauliflower crust pizza and some jarred mushrooms to top it with. Old El Paso Stand ‘N Stuff taco shells and Gardein Ground Be’f, even though I think “be’f” is a nightmarish contraction. Favorite ranking: Stouffer’s frozen dinners. I don’t own a microwave (I get my cancers the old fashioned way!), so I love taste testing things that I don’t really buy to eat at home. Least favorite ranking: Soy sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I love soy sauce—but consuming that much sodium in one sitting is probably illegal in some countries. Our frozen enchilada taste test was a close second; the smell of microwaved corn tortillas still haunts me.
