5 New Trader Joe’s Foods We Can’t Wait to Buy This Month

It’s January, baby! Sorry for calling you baby! New year, new you, and most importantly: new stuff at Trader Joe’s. You’ve circled back after the holidays, now it’s time to circle the Trader Joe’s parking lot before cutting off an elderly woman for the last spot because all’s fair in love and groceries.

So, shake off 2024, and start 2025 off right with some new Trader Joe’s foods that just dropped this month.

Organic Concord Grape Jelly

In a sea of dense bean salads and cloud breads, sometimes simplicity prevails. Sometimes, a PB&J just slaps. Whether the new year reflections have got you yearning for childhood favorites or you’re looking to make a sweet and sticky meatball sauce, this new concord grape jelly is here for you and easy for squirting, thanks to the ribbon-style opening in the cap. Whoever wrote The Grapes of Wrath was probably only mad because they didn’t know grapes could be this good. We think. Our resolution is to read more books.

Strawberry Mini Hold the Cones

As much as we love soup season and the cozy casseroles of winter, we miss fresh fruit and bright flavors that can sometimes be hard to come by in the colder months. But in periods of darkness we remember: It’s never too cold for ice cream. Especially when that ice cream is flavored with the sweet and quintessentially springtime strawberry, a little nibble-sized treat like this is exactly what we need to get us excited about warmer months on the horizon. Plus, it’s covered in chocolate so if you forget a Valentine’s gift, just give them one of these and say, “They’re like those chocolate covered strawberries you like, but better.”

Organic Sri Lankan Curry Rice

Goodbye Siri, hello Sri. Sri Lankan curry, that is. Even if you’ve already tapped out of your veganism resolution, this vegan dish is worth getting. It’s an easy, all-in-one kit that contains coconut sauce seasoned with spices like cinnamon, curry, cumin, and coriander to mix into wild Sri Lankan rice and top with the roasted cashews. It’s all in there. You don’t even need to add your own cashews! We’ve never met a curry we didn’t like, and Trader Joe’s is not about to change that fact.

Spicy Chicken Nuggets

Make this the year that you teach your little cousins a lesson for reaching their grubby hands onto your plate and taking your chicken nuggets. They may resemble the kids’ menu staple, but they have an extra kick. These nuggets are coated in a cayenne-based hot sauce before being breaded and fried to golden brown perfection. Deceptively innocent-looking but decidedly spicy, they’re like when Ariana Grande puts interviewers in their goddamn place.

Crispy Potato Poblano Pepper Tacos

You know those corny rom-coms where people say that they fall more and more in love each day? We fell more and more in love with these with each word. Crispy? Good. Potato? Yum. Poblano pepper? Heck yeah. Tacos? Scrumptious. Put it together and you have mashed potato, crispy tortilla, and spicy poblano all in your mouth.
