It’s May. Everywhere you turn is another meme of Justin Timberlake and getting through the day has become a veritable gauntlet of rubbing your eyes, blowing your nose, and cursing allergies. But life is a little easier when you have Trader Joe’s as both your source for picnic bites and your shelter from the pollen-laden outdoors.

There are new Trader Joe’s items to get everyone through spring and straight into summer, making May the most delicious time to fuel up for all of the complaining we’re about to do about how freaking hot it is.

After a recent stroll through the Trader Joe’s aisles, here are the five new Trader Joe’s items we can’t wait to try this May.

Buffalo Ranch Popcorn

I can’t be the only one who assumed “Buffalo ranch” was a ranch exclusively for Buffalo. But in reality it’s a combination of Buffalo sauce and ranch dressing, dusted atop popcorn. I’m expecting a wealth of light, puffy-yet-crispy popcorn, with nooks and crannies that are perfect for holding on to the zesty, herbaceous dust.

Chile Lime Flavored Dried Strawberries

Sweet, spicy, and tart. It could be a new trio of dwarfs with less back-handed names than not-so-sly digs like “Dopey” and “Grumpy,” but in this case, it refers to Trader Joe’s new chile lime strawberries. For those who bury their fruit under an avalanche of Tajin, this snack has that same flavor profile with the pleasant chew of dried berries. Seasoned with cane sugar, chile flakes, concentrated lime juice, and salt, this is a great call for anyone that wants the best of all worlds.

Fiesta Salad with Shrimp

Grocery store pre-packed “salads” often consist of two wilted lettuce leaves and a single cherry tomato that’s well on the way to winning a craisin look-alike contest. But Trader Joe’s is putting in the work, giving us a pre-packaged salad to look forward to. The Fiesta Salad includes lettuce, black beans, roasted corn, tortilla strips, pico de gallo, and pre-cooked shrimp. It even includes a creamy poblano dressing and a lime wedge! They’ve taken care of everything except for lifting the fork to your mouth. With all the time you save on prep, you’ll finally have time for that siesta.

Sparkling Matcha Lemonade

Few beverages are more quintessentially summery than lemonade. Add to that effervescent carbonation and the delightfully grassy notes of matcha, and you’ve got what could be the drink of summer 2025. It’s as good for washing down a hot dog at a family reunion as it is washing down a hot dog at a workplace BBQ as it is for washing down a hot dog at the intervention your friends have planned for you about your hot dog addiction.

Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken Meatballs

When it comes to pineapple, chicken, and teriyaki, we often see the intersection of two of those, but how often do all three come together in harmony? The answer is “not often enough.” These meatballs are a step in the right direction to world pineapple-chicken-teriyaki domination, so do your part at bettering the world by showing TJ’s that the demand for these will not wane. We will stand strong behind our love for products like this: pre-seasoned, fully-cooked, and absolutely something we’ll take credit for when we’re showered with compliments wherever we bring them.
