This Award-Winning Cheese Is A Must For Your Summer

I love cheese. I love it in all its forms (except, much to my shame, blue cheese, which my tastebuds just can’t seem to accept as a good thing). And I love it even more when it’s award-winning. Yes, awards are subjective, but it’s always nice to know that you’re eating something that’s been approved by someone else (unless, again, it’s blue cheese, in which case I’ll take my leave).

Well, if you’re as big a fan of approval and certification as I am, then you’ll love a cheese that was recently voted one of the best products around in the PEOPLE 2026 Food Awards. Let’s discuss.

And The Winner Is…

Boar’s Head Mediterranean Feta Cheese & Olives! This cheese (okay, it is technically a cheese and an olive product, but hey, two in one) was just named the “Best Flavored Cheese” of the year in PEOPLE’s Food Awards. Clearly, Boar’s Head is feeling very proud. “When we launched the Mediterranean Feta Cheese & Olives earlier this year, our goal was to bring a sophisticated, flavor-forward option to the deli department that combines convenience with the exceptional quality for which Boar’s Head is known,” it said in a statement. “Being named the ‘Best Flavored Cheese’ of 2026 by PEOPLE is a wonderful testament to that dedication.”

We’ll give you this one, Boar’s Head, because it does sound good. Its Mediterranean Feta Cheese & Olives is a medley of briny feta with Kalamata and Cerignola olives, dressed with oil, spices, and lemon zest. Imagine a tub of these sitting between you and a couple of your friends in the park, toothpicks in hand, as you catch up. Come on. Heavenly.

The PEOPLE Have Spoken

PEOPLE’s Food Awards ran for the seventh time this year, with 70 products featuring in their respective “Best Of” categories. Elsewhere on the dairy front, Sargento won Best Sliced Cheese for its Mango Habanero Jack flavor, while Cabot Creamery’s Gouda won for Best Shredded Cheese. Babybel PRO, meanwhile, took home the award for Best Cheese Snack (and yes, Babybel has a high-protein version now, much like everything else).

As for the winners in the snack categories, KIND’s Mango Pineapple Nut Bar won Best Granola Bar, while Ghirardelli’s Dubai Style Chocolate won Best Chocolate.
