Good news, lactose intolerant meatheads! Premier Protein heard your sad tummy rumbles and decided to bless you with a line of dairy free protein shakes. Yes, the nice people at Premier Protein sent over samples of all three flavors of their new almond milkprotein shakes: vanilla, chocolate, and coffee. Each bottle contains 20 grams of protein, 160 calories, and 5 grams of sugar. But you’re not here for the macros and math, you’re here to find out how they taste! Let’s get into it.
Pros: I started with this Premier Protein almond milk shake thinking it’d be boring, but it ended up being the standout of the trio. This is one of the better protein shakes I’ve ever had. Some milk alternatives have an unctuousness that keeps them from being good substitutes; I would never guess this wasn’t real milk if I didn’t know already.
Cons: No complaints. In the realm of dairy free protein shakes, this is the best option you’re going to find.

New Product!
Premier Protein Almondmilk Chocolate Protein Shake
Pros: Again, the almond milk here does a great job of not tasting like a milk substitute. Putting the protein shake-iness aside, this would be a convincing dairy free chocolate milk.
Cons: Being low in sugar is definitely part of the point of a protein shake, but this is truly unsweet. It tastes close to baking chocolate. That might be a positive for some people, but it got old for me before I finished the whole bottle.
Pros: The coffee flavor here is legit—this ain’t mocha or caramel frap, this is just coffee with some (non dairy) creamer. This is also the only caffeinated flavor option, which just feels like putting a hat on a hat. You’re telling me this new Premier Protein shake is dairy free, tasty, and it’ll wake me up in the morning?
Cons: I’d still pick the vanilla first, as this flavor also suffers from being a little on the bitter side. Again, that might be a benefit for some people—just not for me and my professional sweet tooth.

Where can I get these new Premier Protein shakes for myself?
The easiest place to get these new Premier Protein almond milk shakes will be Amazon; they have all three flavors in bulk so you can… you know…bulk up. It looks like select Walmart stores are also stocking these; I’m sure more retailers will come in time.
