Days like today make my neurotic coverage of the Red Bull beat worth it. To quote Janine, we got one. I knew the flavor profile of last year’s Winter Edition all the way back in March 2024. This year, the word took a little longer to make its way to me. That said, this isn’t confirmed; my secret internal sources were not able to assure me that this was set in stone just yet. Nevertheless, today I come to you with a pretty good idea of what 2025 Red Bull Winter Edition will taste like—five months early, because I’m just that good.
What flavor is Red Bull Winter Edition 2025?
Per the rumors floating around, the Red Bull Winter Edition 2025 flavor will be Fuji Apple Ginger. Fuji apples are characterized by an extra sweetness and crispness compared to other apples. Ginger is that stuff that makes ginger ale good and ginger beer bad. There’s no word (unofficial or otherwise) on whether this flavor will be available in sugar free just yet, but I think it’s a safe bet to expect it at this point.
This won’t be the first apple-inspired seasonal Red Bull flavor either; Kiwi Apple launched as a Summer Edition in 2016 and Fig Apple launched as a Winter Edition in 2022. Kiwi Apple returned the following year as the first of many Green Editions.
Where did this information come from?
As usual, the first rumblings of this new Red Bull flavor leaked from an international Red Bull distributor; I passed that info to my historically-knowledgeable Red Bull sources to determine whether we’d see the same flavor here. I got answers ranging from “I haven’t heard anything” to “all but confirmed,” which gave me the confidence to pitch this newspiece. While some international designs floating around the internet feature a red-to-orange can gradient, at least one source told me not to expect that same design in the States.
When can I try the Red Bull Winter Edition 2025 for myself?
One thing is for certain: This year’s Red Bull Winter Edition is slated to hit shelves the last week of October. (I’ve actually had that information since late last year, funny enough.) It should be available in Red Bull’s standard 8.4oz and 12oz cans.
Why don’t they just bring back last year’s Winter Edition?
Boy, do I have good news for you. I covered this development in detail earlier this year, but for the unaware, Red Bull’s super-popular Iced Vanilla Berry flavor from last year will likely return later this year as a permanent flavor called Ice Edition. Here’s hoping we get official confirmation sooner rather than later.
