During this Gut Check segment, Rhett & Link tasted every flavor of Kettle Brand chips (let’s say a few prayers for their teeth). Here at Sporked, Kettle is one of our go-to potato chips. They’re thick, crunchy, and jam-packed with flavor. This is the taste test I was most jealous of while watching. Plus, they used Topo Chico as their palate cleanser? Come on, now. “Ooh wee, that is nice,” said Link. Rhett chimed in, “It’s almost too much.” Later the boys decided that the Honey Dijon chip is a little too sweet and doesn’t necessarily carry the same obvious flavor punch as the top two. Still, it ranked above 23 other flavors to nail down the third spot.

Rhett confessed that he puts pepperoncinis on his pizza sometimes, and I do the same thing. Pepperoncinis are vinegary, spicy, and delicious. Somehow, Kettle condensed that flavor down into their crunchy and thick potato chips. “It’s got a pepper kick, and then it’s got a pickle kick,” said Link. “Let’s call this the dark horse that almost made it.” Truly, these seemed neck and neck with Salt & Vinegar. There’s sort of a 1A and 1B scenario going on here.

“There’s no denying that this has the bigger flavor kick of the two,” said Link of Salt & Vinegar versus the Pepperoncini chips. “The flavor kick that starts strong, and ends stronger. And I am just in love with it,” added Rhett before they decided to put the chip on its first place throne. Kettle nails the tart piquancy of a salt and vinegar chip, and when you combine the flavor with the classic crunch of their brand, you end up with a knockout. It’s official. The number one Kettle chip, folks.
