Iron Man and Spider-Man Reunite—for Coffee and Non-Alcoholic Beer

To quote the biggest baddie these two celebrities ever faced together, this was inevitable. Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland, two of our most profitable superheroes, have launched a pair of products designed as a… taste mirror? Robert Downey Jr.’s coffee company created a ground coffee that tastes like the hops used in Tom Holland’s non-alcoholic beer. Tom Holland’s non-alcoholic beer company brewed a drink inspired by Robert Downey Jr.’s coffee. Does anyone else have a headache?

Wait, Robert Downey Jr. makes coffee?

I know, right? Robert Downey Jr. quietly co-founded Happy Coffee back in 2024 with a chunk of all that Avengers money we gave him. Happy Coffee makes everything from K-cups to canned lattes to ground coffee. Earlier this year, we covered Happy’s fantastic collaboration with Tate’s Bake Shop (which recently launched at Target, if you haven’t gotten to try it yet). 

This new arabica coffee has notes of citrus and pine to emulate the hops used by BERO. I can’t imagine the average coffee-enjoyer picking up a non-alcoholic beer-flavored coffee on purpose; here’s hoping the MCU audience is truly that desperate for Iron Man and Spider-Man to team up again.

When did Tom Holland start brewing N/A beer?

Late last year, Tom Holland co-founded BERO, a non-alcoholic beer brand brewed with real hops at such a high temperature that the alcohol content is beneath the legal limit to be considered non-alcoholic. (For reference, BERO contains less than 0.5% alcohol; soy sauce is around 2%.) BERO launched with three blends based on standard beer varieties like wheat, IPA, and pilsner. Today, BERO revealed a nitrogen-infused stout-alike based on the malt, cocoa, and coffee you’d expect from Happy Coffee. Say that three times fast.

Where can I find the BERO/Happy collaboration?

Fittingly, you can find BERO Coffee Draught on BERO’s website and Happy Eternal Hoptimist Coffee on Happy’s website. Both products will see an exclusive retail release at Target ahead of a wider release in the future.
