SNICKERS Is Partnering With adidas On Shoes & Bars

Candy bars and high-level sports don’t immediately fit together in my mind, but SNICKERS and adidas want to change that. The two brands are partnering with their shared(!?) spokesperson, the Tennessee Titans‘ Carnell Tate, on a dual launch of adidas-branded SNICKERS bars and SNICKERS-branded adidas cleats.

How can I get the limited-edition SNICKERS x adidas bar?

Now through October 13th, you can enter to win the exclusive co-branded SNICKERS x adidas bars at SNICKERS.com/adidas. As someone with a minor adidas problem (to the point of wearing a three-stripes hat on purpose in my professional headshot), I certainly didn’t have this collaboration on my bingo card–not that I’m complaining. Now if we can just get a SNICKERS variant of my beloved Lite Racer Adapts, we’d really be in business.

How can I get the limited-edition SNICKERS ADIZERO ELECTRIC + II cleats?

I have no business telling you about the athletic capability of this football equipment; I recently twisted my ankle taking out the trash. As such, I’ll leave you to do your own research on the cleats “built to support speed and agility”. That said, I can speak to the visuals: SNICKERS is all over this shoe. From the logo-inspired ADIZERO callout on the sole to the SNICKERS charm attached to both laces and the chocolate-brown color scheme across the whole body (save for the green insoles), this shoe satisfies. The SNICKERS ADIZERO ELECTRIC + II will be available exclusively to U.S. shoppers starting October 10th on the adidas webstore.

Wait, why are the insoles green?

As a proud historian of the frequent crossovers between shoe and food culture, I know every aspect of a modern shoe’s design comes from something. This time around, the “ghoulish green” insole is inspired by the annual SNICKERS Halloween variant: Ghoulish Green. The shoe mirrors that specific candy bar perfectly: Classic SNICKERS on the outside, surprise Halloween twist on the inside. (It also means this won’t loudly read as a Halloween shoe to anyone who sees it in use–a smart move, since the candy’s fanbase isn’t necessarily all-in on “SNICKERS but green” the same way certain people are with pumpkins.)
