Spindrift Soda Is the Newest Addition to the Soda-sphere

Over the last five years, various better-for-you sodas like Poppi and Olipop have gained cult followings for offering what once seemed impossible: healthy soda. Whether or not what they offer is “healthy,” and whether or not it is soda, remains up for debate. But people enjoy these mysterious carbonated drinks and the demand is clearly expanding as even Coca-Cola, whose normal soda is doing…pretty well, felt the need to jump on the bandwagon with the launch of Simply Pop. Now, Spindrift, hugely popular for their flavored sparkling water, is entering the better-for-you soda market with the release of Spindrift Soda.

What is Spindrift Soda and what will it taste like?

Spindrift Soda is being introduced in five flavors: Concord Freeze, Ginger Ale, Orange Cream Float, Shirley Temple, and Strawberry Shortcake. Unlike many other better-for-you soda brands, the new Spindrift Soda is not a sparkling prebiotic drink, which means it will likely lack the not-so-fabulous vinegar after taste that can occur with prebiotic bevs. Hooray! That said, it’s not entirely clear what it is. All we know for sure is that it contains 20% real fruit juice and less than 7g of naturally occurring sugars. So, I guess it’s…Spindrift with more fruit juice and sugar? Sounds sorta like a mocktail to me, and I’m not mad about it.

When and where can we find Spindrift Soda?

Spindrift Soda is available nationwide—now! Time to see if this new spin on healthy soda is imitation that upsets or innovation that excites.
