It’s a bit early to get excited about new flavors for the new year, but then I’m also having one of those weeks/months/years where time is playing all sorts of tricks―an hour will last a few days, every day of one week for some (awful) reason feels like mid-morning Wednesday, and instead of it being March, it’s somehow almost 2027.

So as I try to catch up with, well, catching up, it’s actually helpful (hopeful?) to get excited about new flavors for the new year because they’re energy drink related. Not only that, they come from the flavor-mavens at GHOST, meaning we’ll be enjoying some much-needed pep in our step that also tastes good. And in this case, specifically, it’ll taste like Sour Strips AppleBerry and Blueberry Cream in a few short months.
New And New(ish) Flavors As A Nod To The Fans
Fans of GHOST probably know that Ghost Sour Strips AppleBerry is already out. But in 2027, GHOST will be crowning the AppleBerry with permanent flavor status, where it’ll join other tart flavors like Sour Strips Rainbow and Blue Raspberry.
The only technically “new” flavor is the Blueberry Cream, which will be a limited time offering in January of 2027 but (not even kidding) has us intrigued all the way back here in 2026. According to GHOST, who announced the Blueberry Cream alongside some other news (including the confirmed permanence of its 7UP and A&W flavors), the new blueberry flavor is the “first-to-market flavor requested by consumers.” Energy drink flavors get wild, and weird, and we’re all for it―which is what makes the fan-requested blueberries n’ cream vibe all the more surprising.
Two Very Different Flavors (And We’re Here For It)
But the fans will be happy, first of all because GHOST is really, genuinely listening to their customers. But they should also be happy because by the way GHOST described the flavor in the press release, it sounds very springy and elegant, with blueberry and vanilla as the dominant flavors resulting in a “yogurt-inspired” taste.
As mentioned, the Sour Strips AppleBerry is already out and we got to taste it. In 2027, GHOST will just be crowning it with permanent status, which we’re excited about―though not without mouth-puckering reservations. Because yes, in their press release GHOST describes the AppleBerry as “a sweet and sour blend of green apple and strawberry,” but we’d call that verbiage a bit, um, tame. Seriously, our taste buds are still uncoiling themselves from the tongue-twisting, lip-clenching tartness of it all. Even so, we gave the AppleBerry flavor a 7.5, and we did that for the same reason we’re reasonably assured the Blueberry Cream flavor’s gonna be a winner, too―GHOST just knows how to do flavors. If only we didn’t have to wait until the future to try them…
