These Rumored Starbucks Frapps Are A Perfect 2026 Trend

You probably already know a Frappuccino is one of the best blended beverages for anyone craving something icy, creamy, and sweet. But what if that drink also came with a serious protein boost?

That’s exactly what Starbucks is trying out. The coffee chain is currently testing a brand-new lineup called Power Frapps. The drinks are still in the testing stage, but they’re already creating plenty of reactions online after customers spotted them at select stores.

Three Flavors Are Being Tested

Starbucks is currently experimenting with three Power Frapps and each one offers a different take on the classic Frappuccino.

There’s the Strawberry Mango Power Frapp, which mixes sweet strawberry with tropical mango for a fruity frozen drink. The Matcha Berry Power Frapp combines earthy matcha with berry flavors for something a little different. And then there’s the Caramel Coffee Power Frapp, which is more like the original Starbucks Frappuccino with coffee, caramel, and a protein boost.

All three drinks contain 20-plus grams of protein, making them a much higher-protein option than a regular Frappuccino.

Starbucks has already experimented with protein-focused drinks in other markets, including protein cold foam and protein lattes. So I think adding protein to one of its most popular beverages feels like another step toward attracting customers who want more filling drinks while still enjoying something sweet.  

Fans Have Plenty To Say

As soon as photos of the drinks started making the rounds online, opinions started pouring in. And so far, they’re pretty mixed. Some Starbucks fans were excited about finally getting a frozen coffee drink with a decent amount of protein.

But of course some others didn’t like the idea. A Reddit user sarcastically wrote “We definitely did NOT have enough cold bar drinks on our menu, thank goodness they keep piling up all these new complicated drinks!”

Baristas have also shared their reactions. Some have no idea what Power Frapps are, while others think the rate at which Starbucks introduces new drinks is getting ridiculous.

When Can Everyone Try Them?

Well, that’s still up in the air. Starbucks often tests new drinks in a handful of stores before deciding whether they’re worth launching across the country. Some test items become permanent menu favorites, while others quietly disappear. All three of these flavors have been spotted in the state of Washington, according to local Starbucks customers.

For now, the Power Frapps are still part of that testing phase. But judging by all the attention they’re already getting, Starbucks may have found another drink that customers can’t stop talking about.
