Some Starbucks drinks come back every year. The Pumpkin Spice Latte has its season, Peppermint Mocha returns every winter, and fans know they’ll eventually see them again. But the Unicorn Frappuccino is a completely different story.

After disappearing for years, one of Starbucks’ most famous drinks is finally making its return. But sadly, it won’t stay long.
The Drink That Broke The Internet Is Back
I remember when the Unicorn Frappuccino first came out back in 2017 and instantly became a hit. Everyone was talking about it, including celebrities like Katy Perry.
In fact, in April 2026, the drink made an appearance at Coachella as part of Starbucks’ first official partnership with the music festival. Since then, fans have been wondering if the nationwide comeback was real. After months of rumors, Starbucks has finally made it official.
The coffeehouse chain says the drink will return to participating Starbucks coffeehouses across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East and North Africa for one weekend only to close out the summer. Fans will have just August 15th and 16th to grab one before it disappears all over again.
It’s Still One Of Starbucks’ Most Colorful Drinks
Half the fun of the Unicorn Frappuccino is watching it change as it’s mixed together. The drink starts with a creamy mango-flavored Frappuccino that’s lined with a bright blue tangy drizzle inside the cup. Some whipped cream is also added before getting a blue-and-pink sweet-and-tart topping that gives it its signature unicorn look.
You just have to give the cup a swirl and everything will start to blend together. The colors shift, the flavors change, and each sip tastes a little bit different from the last.
Fans Have Been Asking For This Return
Ever since Starbucks retired the Unicorn Frappuccino, fans have kept asking for another chance to order it.
The excitement has already started building online, with food creators sharing the news and calling it one of Starbucks’ most requested returning drinks. Plenty of people never got to try it the first time around, while others are simply ready to give it another swirl.
To understand just how much the demand is, a Reddit user who also happens to be a barista says “I just know my store is going to run out of it on the first day.”
Blink And You’ll Miss It
For anyone who missed the first craze nearly a decade ago, this may be the best opportunity to find out why the Unicorn Frappuccino became one of Starbucks’ biggest viral hits.
The drink will only be around on August 15th and 16th and by that Monday fans will most likely be back online asking Starbucks to bring it back one more time.
